Ok so ive just started a new warhammer army , i orginally have dwarfs , but wanted something diffeent & so i chose tomb kings.
I have a battalion made up of:
20 skellies HW/S/LA
10 skellies Bows
8 Heavy Horsemen
-Converted a tomb King from one of the spare skellies
- Bought a liche preist Balister (foot & Mounted)
- Made a tomb swarm from a spare large base & green stuff
But im not sure what 2 get next? & my main opponemnt aka my brother has lizardmen... which are a pain to kill.
but he only has the battleforce at the moment & a few skink chiefs/ priests. But will expand soon
Any ideas? i thought either
- Tomb scorpion
- Some Ushabiti for easy killing of Saurus
- More skellies? or chariots
I dunno myself. some help, suggestions or tactics, would be appriciated =]

As Nagash mentioned, my Beginners Guide thread (written a long time ago but hopefully still very much relevant!) has been a good starting place for many players. Once you gain some experience with a basic army, Nagash's Ask thread is a great source of info and a place to go to sort out any questions/problems you may come across.
Hope you enjoy playing the army!
Nice to hear that you're still around! I've soon been a member for a year
it doesn't matter what army you're up against...if you have an open specials slot there's no justification for leaving it unfilled. And the question isn't "why put a scorpion in it," it's "what's my justification for putting anything else in it?" Don't get me wrong, I only have two scorpions (out of four special choice slots) in 2k points...but filling those slots with scorpions is never the wrong move...

Carrion are cheap and can easily march block and get a cross-fire. While they are not especially strong, they can be resurrected. I'll always take them and at least 1, maybe 2 scorps, which work well even without ICFB. I in fact prefer them this way as I know what they'll be doing from the start.
As for killing Saurus with Ushabti....I'd stick to skellies, Tomb Guard and a king or prince since you can probably get rank bonus and outnumbering. Use your chariots to hit their flank. Ushabti are just too fragile, in my opinion, to stand up to rank and file Saurus with their 2 attacks. Worse if they're hit by Cold Ones. Ushabti can hit hard but they have a miserable armor save and average toughness so I don't think they can take those Lizards alone.
Skull Screaming Catapult? I mean, you played dwarves, so it'd add a familiar touch. And I agree with the scorps and carrion, I run 4 scorps in my 2250 list. But carrion, 40 inch charge? seriously? awesome in a can. But yes, you need a catapult.
