I am working on a 2200 list and I am unsure if I want to take a High Liche Priest - lvl 4 or two lvl 2 priests one Nekehara and the other Death. What thoughts do you guys have on this and what seems to be working for you? I am afraid of having just one priest means a failed cast = end of magic phase, BUT.. he does give +4 to cast result. I also plan on running a Casket!
Go for a Level 4, just to assist with dispelling. Add in a level 2 of death, a casket and a Heirotitan to keep your magic phase going. It is a bit hefty magic wise and point wise, but totally worth it. If you get Doom and Darkness, then double team it with the casket to inflict a lot more damage... And dont be afraid to do 2 dice spells. All the casting is low value, and with the Titan adding to it you can keep the magic phase going a lot longer than the opponent can keep up.
I was able to kill Teclis with this setup.
I'll be taking the special character grand heiro along with another L4 with lore of light at 2200...all of my fighty characters will have to be hero-level, of course! I looked at death, and it does have some nice things, like combining doom and darkness with the light of death, but in the end, I opted for loremaster (nehekhara) plus an assortment from lore of light, since my army is built around skelly hordes...light does amazing things to buff those hordes, death...just kills stuff, primarily characters. Death would be better for a more elite TK army build, though...like sphinx-spam, or chariot/construct builds, so you could kill off the enemy general and BSB with death magic, then let loose with your melee units once the enemy's "reroll on LD10" thingie is taken care of...
