4 High/liche priests
3 Necropolis Knight
21 tomb guard
3 Ushabti(great weapons)
screaming Skull Catapult
casket of souls
would that be a good start to a new army?
First, let's sort out what's useful and what's useless. Of the characters, only the special prince is a bust. He can be useful sometimes, but he's gimicky and isn't doing the main job of a tomb prince, which is MWBD. That's not to say that you'll field three necrotects, but the concept of fielding that type of character is sound.Originally Posted by Kage2612
For the actual units, I'd say they're all decent except for the horsemen, carrion, and scorpion. Not being able to charge on arrival ensures that the scorpion will fail it's mission, the carrion are gutted by the huge bases they're on, besides which three isn't enough, and horsemen are underwhelming in any capacity except for providing LoS! saves to mounted liches.
Other than that, three ushabti is okay, but they really start kicking butt when you field them in units of six.
Nice big collection, though! Got it cheap secondhand, I assume?

is from a trade i knew the carrions and scorpion wouldn't be any good, but they look cool! well they will when they get herel lol but as i'm getting the book with the trade i wasn't exactly sure if this was a good place to start! i play withing the 2-3k mark and the speacial character will more than likely just be used as a tomb king/prince
72 points is a bit expensive for a 'might be useful sometimes' unit like that. If you're going to take carrion, take enough that they actually do something. A unit of six could hold its own against anything 150 points or less... And most everything in that category can't fly, so advantage: you. On the other hand, that's starting to get into some real points, I think the sweet spot is four. It's still under 100 points, and it has just enough attacks to be dangerous and just enough wounds that getting rid of them isn't something you do as an afterthought with leftover shooting.
