So on friday I have my first 2000pt game hell its my first game using Tombkings.
So basically i have no clue what to kit my characters out with or which to take.
i plan to take:
30 warriors(sword n board)
24 tomb guard
3 necro knights
6 uhabti GW's
1-2 screaming skull
i don't know the points value on all that yet but they're want i want to take +lords n hero obviously.
so any help would be great.
A.) Figure out which 2 of your hard-hitting units you want to take from these choices:
You can't run all of those units in a 2000 point game
With the chariots and 2 of the aforementioned units, you'll have enough strength to break down enemy block infantry
B.) 30 sword n' board skellies is not enough, you really should be running them in blocks of 50-60 with command.
C.) I'm not sure what your strategy is for lords/heroes, but I don't think the 60 archers really fit the style of the rest of your army. By what you've described, you seem to have a more elite and aggressive army, so I would assume you're planning on running princes/necrotects to maximize your close combat abilities. 60 archers is won't really fit into that style of play. If you really want to use 60 archers, I would suggest a more defensive army built around forcing your enemy to come to you, rather than taking it aggressively to the enemy.
Maybe what you could try doing is cutting down your archers significantly, dropping the necro knights and ushabti (or the war sphinx), then bumping up your sword n' board to 50+. From there you can add in a prince and liche priest with whatever other heroes you plan to use.
Hope this helps!

A.) You can take 1000 points of special choices, 50% of your points allowance can be special.
That means Sir Isaac Newton is the deadliest-son-of-a-bitch in space!
Hmm. Here's my take. You don't have enough sword'n'board skellies to make them the central element of your list. So I'm going to recommend that you take two units of 30 archers and four chariots for core. Six chariots would be a tad hard to maneuver, but three is a bit light on damage output, especially after a few wounds. I recommend both catapults. Six ushabti is the ideal number, take those for sure. That leaves almost exactly a thousand points. Take the tomb guard, they're pretty awesome, too, and give them undying legion to keep them healthy. For characters, definitely two level fours, with the second one having lore of light, which is your only prayer you have of making six point skellies with no parry save (and ws2) survive melee. Do whatever you like with the rest. I might go for a prince to lead the tg.

In the long run, you should probably look at getting 40-50 4-point skellies per thousand points if you want a horde army, or eight chariots per thousand (making up the remainder of the 25% with lich bunker units) if you want to go more for a low model count elite army. Bowmen aren't terrible, they're just not as good for the points as chatiots or badic warriors.
For the list I gave you above, I recommend a defensive strategy. Make him come to you, then punish him with the TG and ushabti. At the same time, use the maneuverability and speed of the chariots to make him second guess everything and take half-measures, not fully committing to his advance... That gives your 60 shooters and two skullapults an extra turn to pound him, making him all the weaker when he does assault your lines.

that list at the top is basically what i have on me atm, still waiting on a second trade to come through. I for got to mention that i have a casket of skulls, bone giant too.
so what your saying is 2 lv4 casters? so high liche ?
and a single prince to sit in the Tomb Guard?
the 60 archers were gonna be split into 2 groups of 30 or 3 of 20 for maximum number of shots.
what kit should go on the characters, or should they be naked?
should a prince go in a chariot give them that extra bit of weapon skill?
switching to a tomb kings from ogres is a differcult process!
