Bah! I cant decide which i should be starting up! On the one hand tomb kings are very tactical and i love the models, and they are v ery diverse, but on the other hand, ogre kingdoms sounds very powerful and diverse too,and it seems like it is tactical. The models arent as cool as the TK ones though IMO and i like the TK's fluff more. On the OTHER hand OK has alot of cool special units and such that makes them a very unique and diverse army to play,so i cant decide!

ps:i feel so bad posting this type of thread, since i usually think that one should choose their own army, but i feel the need to hear others opinions of these armies.

it helps if you can stand to look at your models, IMO

Yeah, this is excellent! TY Angel of Rust!

Graktoof the vile, victor of 1000 battles, partial credit to 1000 more, and sore loser about the other 8000...

Personally I'm not too fond of TK. If the enemy has enough dispel dice, they're screwed! I know I would get alot of dispel dice. Around 9, if lucky (O&G close combat dispel dicey bussiness).
But yeah, they have neat models

I don't really have much of an opinion about OK yet, I will have to check their army book first.

TK is what i would suggest, when they released everyone and his dog is gonna be doing Ogre Kingdoms, plus you like the models more and the flugff more and there is more variety and they are still a tactical army

Im actually the only person at my store starting up OK so far. But i see your point, its just the ogre kingdoms look so powerful and chock full of special rules compared to the tomb kings.

hehe, Wickedrock.

the fun is, that Ã? am playing lots against dwarfs so have almost no magic getting through.

In my 1000 points I have 3 incantation dice and he has 4 dispel dice.

And you know what?

I CRUSH HIM!!

people who think TK are going to be 100 % magic are going to be kicked very hard.

If you are going to put lots of anti-magic in your army, I don't care. You just use up lots of points. If you don't, youre srewed too because whe can get extra combat rounds.

So TK magic is a really big threat but they are great without it too.

Seen the sreaming skull catapult.IT ROCKS>
Seen the tomb scorpion?? IT ROCKS
seen ushabti?? they have strength 6 base!!

So I don't think that what you say is really true.

If you like to have a balanced tactical army with models you would like, choose Tomb kings.

The only reason TK's really need magic is because they cant march w/out it. And that means they become the slowest army out there. I saw a guy using a back of the book army in WD for TK's,4 bone giants and 4.6 ushabti. Only general was anothyer char from WD. He never got a single march move off in any game, and lost all of them purely because of this.

That guy wasn't really smart than.

Tomb kings are mostly defensily played so you don't need marching.

And if you play attacking, use chariots, horseman and other things which can walk real fast.

ushabti are mainly for countering your enemy when he comes to close.

When I played against TK, I smashed his hierophant pretty quickly, stopped all magic, and the only thing that was alive to my lines was the tomb guard with tomb king/prince regiment, cause they wheren't good at crumbling.
But I've only played one game against TK, so yeah, I don't have much of an opinion.
But TK vs. Dwarves I can imagine TK winning easily. Tomb scorpions/swarms >> artillery.
