Undead, Chaos and Ogres are known for insane Melee Lords. What would, in your opinion, be the best King to rival the sheer power of these adversaries, both in hacking up rank'n'file and challenging enemies?

Is there a Tomb King able to match maniacs like those above? If there is, show him out to the public...
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
the chaos lord is the best but havin said that he is 200pts more than the closest one !!
o and for thosese points you can take setra and he owns them
with the special abilitys ( without the bad abilitys)
oops i didnt see the lord is tzeench but still 200pts more
Since i dont have the Tomb Kings rulebook, against the ogres you want something like a great weapon so it is easier to wound. The lord of chaos will kick ur ass unless u use magic, although if he was on foot, an anti-armor save item would be devestating. The others would be best to just outmagic, since muscle is out of the question.
Awww... Saurus Old Bloods weren't mentioned.
Saurus Old-Blood - 518 pts
Blessed Mark of the Old Ones, Blessed Spawning of Quetzl, Blessed Spawning of Itzl, Scimitar of the Sun Resplendant, Light Armour, Scaly Skin, Amulet of Quetzl, Shield of Maiming, Mounted in a Carnosaur
Its basically like 8 s5 attacks and 4 s6 attacks, a 1+ save, 4+ ward against s5 or higher, up to three rerolls on any d6s during a battle and the beastly ass mount that can take a beating and goes frenzy after first kill. Pretty scare although I would probably never use this in any point battle as though it is good it is far too expensive.
You should be able to beat armies that make uber lords like those by making smarter balanced lists with a lot more troops and more diversification.
Adalihcne, very good points there.if your opponent will waste hundreds of points on uber lords, then the game is yours.
not neccersarily if he gets it in quick enough he could rip you to shreds ive seen a chaos lord on a dragon kick ass against empire
empire player must not be very good. combat resolution is the downfall of all uber heroes. and chaos's armies are already small, should be an easy win. The only lord besides chaos I can think of that seems reasonable to make over 350 points are slann-mages. I hate taking monster mounts.
Is this only combat heroes? Just in case this isnt, heres a tooled up slann mage
2nd gen slann-mage- 650 pts
plaque of protection
plaque of tepok
diadiem of power
BSB- totem of prophecy
Lol. That so diffenent from my Sarus Oldblood, which ignores armor saves, and has a 2+ besides.
Get Settra or any tomb king or prince, try to kill them but when when they kill you watch them fail their leadership test for "The Curse" and fail then you roll a 5 and kill them (I saw it actually happen against a really killer chaos lord) he he he
