Tomb Kings: 8/5/2
Im in ur Halo, killin ur covernantz
personally, i like tomb king's fluff better, i like being able to heal my units, and an entire army that causes fear is great.
P.S. yeah i dont know why LO has been doing this, its a problem with the time, if you look it say that you posted on this thread before the thread started

hi, i was set on playing VC a while ago ( already had the army book and got a skelly box of frend for £5 so no money wasted ) but then thought you have to get far to many units ( with rasing and stuff ) so looked into TK ( aleady have army book ) and thought i could switch to shooty/CC/mixed all in 1 army ! then i thought goblins look good too ( have a huge shooty army or huge CC army ) but was thinking about buying/making/painting them , is iit too much ?
hope you can help
thanks, creme egg
vampire counts ( under construction)
am thinking about starting it again
currently working on :
second unit of skellys
most likely thing next :
another box of skellys .....
Well, with VC you have to buy tons of models because you can raise more troops than you had on the field.
With gobbos, you have to buy tons of models because Animosity and low stats make them cheap (points-wise) as all hell.
With Tomb Kings, you're stuck with expensive-for-what-they-do (points-wise) Skellies (They ARE cheaper than equivalent VC skeletons, tho), and can't raise more of them - only bring back what you've lost already. Thus, your army won't be that huge, but it will still outlast the enemy due to raising replacing casualties. Also, you have good and cheap Archers.
My vote would go to the Undead in any case, and if you don't want to paint many models or want to have good shooting, to the TK. If not that excellent shooting, but one that still does it's job, Sylvania. Otherwise, basic VC.
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
GOBBOS what are you talking about , my gobbos kcik tomb kings butt , gobbos cheap as hell , best magic (gorks warpath) and you can have a HORDE 2 points per model i mean how good is that!

How are Tomb Kings slow?? Chariots, Cavalry and Carrion are all fast units, and if you use the Incantation of urgency on unit they can fairly zip across the battlefield, plus with It came from below units popping up all over the place you can easily make up for the no marching rule.Originally Posted by Baratos
You do have to protect the hierophant and liche priests though, and the bog standard TK troops arent great at CC unless backed up by Ushabti or Tomb Guard- nice models though, and easier to paint quickly to a high standard than the hundreds of Gobbos you would need!

TK are probably more of a reliable army while Goblins are more random, albeit powerful. From what i've seen and heard (I don't personally play orcs or TK) Gork and Mork Magic is one of the best types of magic out there.
Firstly, don't listen to stuff like this:Sorry, but it doesn't give even a bit of constructive talk for him!GOBBOS what are you talking about , my gobbos kcik tomb kings butt , gobbos cheap as hell , best magic (gorks warpath) and you can have a HORDE 2 points per model i mean how good is that!
They are quite different from each other, so you won't have a REALLy hard choice I guess.
Gobbos are so unreliable, that you will HAVE to use tactics to not let any of your units run.
Units should be really big for them, otherwise you will be shot below 25% of your unit percentage, and when they fail the panic test (which they ussualy do), your whole battleline can fall apart... They are really powerfull though in the right hands, but will be a nightmare for your bankaccount . Some strong magic also, but a irritating as hell miscast table.
Tk on the otherhand, are not so expensive (money wise), got quite some models on the table, can heal all of their units, and are reliable. They also RELY on their fear to win the battle for them.Magic is really strong, and can make yoiur army a massive machine of destruction. But don't go like ''oh no, my mages are dead, no I will lose'' You will be surprised how long units can hold out without it, and some of your units are basically already killing machines!.
I myself would go Tk (I already did ), because the goblin force is just way to expensive, and they are just too unreliable.(it's msotly about the price  )

i have once before faced the very same problem that you are facing here. Undead of Gobbos.
I made the wrong choice and bought gobbos.
at first they where cool, but i only have 1000 pts (not fully pianted yet) and they die. DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE! my most freaquent opponent is the lizzies and they wipe me out every time. Oh yeh, and it has cost me quite a bit.
I am thinking on cutting my losses and starting a TK army now. (should have done it all along)
I once had the same problem, but there is one answer that will make everyone happy. Collect both!!! I did high elves first and then started both TK and gobbos. Now I have three armies on the go and I like them all as much as the others. This has many advantages including that if you get fed up painting green then you can do something else. This is a problem that I often have to face.
