Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey Ive been playing DE for a little and i like them and have done pretty well with them so far,but as one of my friends who plays is picking up a second army(most likey skaven) I think i should two, because it will give us a little more varitey in our games( and i just like the TK models)
so i have a few questions regarding different units, some basic tactics and a good starting force. ( i will be facing and allying with lizards, and skaven most of the time)
so here they go lol
skeletons-not much here but if im fighting skaven what unit size should i take,im guessing these guy need an autobreak to do any damage?
tomb guard-how good are these guys and at what point level should i look at putting them in my army( they look so cool)
chariots- do they work like normal chariots(impact hits) I was wondering because with a unit of 3 if they each get their own impact hits it could be devestating
to finish up on the units, are there any of must have units?
lastly how does TK magic work it looks very confusing and i heard something about auto casting:yes:
any other tips are welcome
Ok lets take a look at your questions
I used to be big into TK for a couple years befor i finaly got wore out on them. The thing to rember is that your basic skeleton cant hit for crap. They come with the stats of a basic goblin and the point cost a point more than a DE warrior. The thing that makes them worth playing is the fear and being able to summon you models back. Also the thing i found with the TK chariots is that they work better as flankers and wont be ablt to take a normal unit head to head. Sure they do D3 impacts but only at S4 so against a commonly equiped core unit with light armour and shield there still saving on 5+ wich should come up 1/3rd of the time.
There magic woks a little different than what your used to with DE. Instead of roling power dice and trying to meet or beat a score you take 2D6(3D6 in the case of a high lich) roll them and thats what the spell cast on, even if you roll double 1s the spell will sill cast on a 2. If you do decide you want to start an army my advice is dont trust Tomb Guard. They look good on paper but unless your prince or king is with them using smiting every turn they didnt have enough staying power. Ushabti though hit hard and come with WS4 wich is high for the undead.
