Which is army is better to play with/has more tactical diversity
I play Ogre kingdoms and collect them, but was wondering which of these two army's is most likely to be able to defeat the ogres and which are the most fun to play with
Tomb kings are more tactical and more fun to play imo, but harder to pick up their playstyle. ive found that against ogres, its like fighting a brick wall for the TK's
If your looking to be able to beat ogres, go VC's. ethereal stuff, and their ability to raise new units to annoy the opponant will be useful.
I think Tomb Kings can do okay against Ogres. Things like Ushabti and Scorpions can take advantage of the Ogres WS3, Chariots give you multipul strength 4 hits and they should almost always be out-done in the magic phase. Also a TK army should be much much bigger than an ogre army so using sponge blocks and then flanking should always be possible. I agree VC are probabily better against Ogres, what with the ability to raise new units behind them and black nights are awsome for their points, hitting at strength 6 on the charge.
I've played with both, and obviously ogres are a problem for each of these armies.
The main difference between TK and VC is TK use spells to make them very maneuvarable (sp?) and VC can raise up new units wherever they want.
Against ogres, the heavy Black Knights, fighty heroes and Ethereal units which have been mentioned will no doubt be very useful.
On the TK side, star units would include Tomb Scorpions, Bone Giants, SSCs, and chariots.
Both armies will be looking to get flank and rear charges against the very unmaneuvarable ogres using either magical movement, or newly raised units. I think both armies have equal chances of winning really, although VC might have more chance if the ogres are dispel heavy.
