Welcome to Librarium Online!
Ok so im getting ahead of myself a bit, but bear with me. Im just finishing my Dwarf and Empire armies and looking at next expanding the TK i have at the moment- i bought a few TK minis when i first got back into the hobby because i loved the whole Egyptian feel but its about time i fashioned them into a proper army!
What i have at the moment (made from bits n bobs ive collected over the years)
1 Tomb King
10 Skellies with Bows
20 Skellies with hnd wps, shield, Command
15 Tomb Guard
8 Skellie horsemen
The skeletons and 1 of the chariots are from the ANCIENT Skeleton Army box set from the early 90s and the Tomb Guard are the old Undead Mummies with weapons minis.
I know i need at least 2 more Ushabti, and i want a scorpion- im not really bothered with the Carrion so i probably wont bother buying more of them to make a unit i was thinking that i could also do with more skeleton warriors- is it worth buying the battalion box? do i really need 7 chariots?

Definitely the extra ushabti, another 3 would be great, as they work best in units of 4.
I highly recommend a catapult, and a Scorpion or two would be a useful addition.
Look at another another batallion box, though it dependswat style you want to play. 2 units of 3 chariots work well, though if you want to base your army around them your kings/Princes need to be in chariots too.
Use the skeleton warriors to bolster your current units to 20-25 strong, and add another bow unit of 20. The horsemen will be pretty redundant.
Get another 9 tomb Guard to ring the unit to 24, and put a prince or king in there.
Look at getting a fourth character. i suggest either a prince in chariot or casket of souls. Tomb King armies rely heavily on characters, so maxing out on them is a good idea.
I agree with the Ushabti in units of 4 by Deceiver, the 4th, while often left out of the fight, can be like insurance, increasing the survival rate of the unit, perhaps allowing them to be healed later in the game, when 3 would have vanished. It can be disheartening for the enemy if you have 2 units too...
I feel like I need to plug the carrion. Why not try them out proxy style before deciding. They can do a terrific job of breaking up/slowing down an advancing force. They're also able to flash over the the spot where you sense a foe is going to break from fear. They have made me 3 or 4 times there points(unit of 6=144) many a time.
The battalion box would be a good buy. Horsemen, both heavy and light get too much ill-deserved flak in my humble opinion. They can be good units as long as you don't try to play them like other armies options. A fast moving list "led" by a High Priest when you can't afford to use of your special slots for chariots can be a good place for them.
Have you ever played vs. TK with your Dwarves or Empire? You might have noticed what does and doesn't work. This could help you build your force around your style of play.
