    My first 1500points tyranid list

    Hi everyone! Here is my first list made for this game, for my loved tyranids. I would like to base my army on melee attacks so here what i decided:

    1499

    Hive Tyrant - 197pts
    Winged, Adrenal Glands +1I, Toxin Sacs +1S, Flesh Hooks, 2xScything Talons, Warp Field

    2x
    3x Warriors - 93pts [186]
    3xToxin Sacs +1S, 3xDeath Spitter, 3xScything Talons

    1x Lictor - 80pts

    16x Hormagaunts - 208pts
    Flesh Hooks, +1I, +1WS

    2x
    8x Gene Stealers - 160 pts [320pts]
    Flesh Hooks, Scuttlers

    3x
    10x Gaunts - 50 pts [150pts]
    Spinefist

    3x Zoanthropes - 195pts
    Synapse Creature, Warp Blast

    Carnifex - 163pts
    Extended Carapace, Bonded Exoskeleton, Toxin Sacs +1S, Adrenal Glounds +1WS, 2xScything Talons, Flesh Hooks

    Is it a list with i can start to play decently? Thanks for any advice

    This is a very good list and you should have no problems with it. The only things i can see that need altering is that the hormaguants need toxins over Initiatiative so they wound marines on 4s and can glance some vehicles to death, and the stealers want feeder tendrils over flesh hooks, re-rolls for a point are great and you may want to consider swapping the exoskelton on the fex for chitin, whilst T7 is useful, a spare wound is generaly better.

    Other than that, this is a fine list to start off with

    thanks for the answer! following your hints and reading the great topics on tyranid strategies in the forum, i ve redistribuited the points and here what i got:

    I want to fully focus the army on CC so i changed the warriors too, maybe are a bit too expensive?.

    This list is nearly perfect for someone whos just starting, or even if you want to maintain a balanced list later on, the only slight slight, thing is that Tail weaponry is nearly useless on fexs, because you have to be in base to base with 4 models, it dosnt apply on the charge, and its unlikly to get used. drop that.

    Id recogmend actually changing the warriors to shooty types, it makes them a bit cheaper, and its always good to be able to make a dent in the opposition as they advance. Try this if you like.

    Warrior
    Tallons
    Deathspitter

    6 of those will set you back 156 points, and if you drop a spineguant squad, you may be able to squeeze in another fex, maybe a ninja fex? (2 tallons and both adrenal glands). But if you wish to stick pure combat, then your current set up will fine anyway.

    changes to the list:

    changed the warriors to a cheaper setup like you said ( death spitter and talon), removed a spinegaunts squad,removed the tail and toxin sacs from the first carnifex and added the second carnifex ( talonsx2, AG +1WS, AG +1I, toxic miasma and flesh hooks, 120pts total).

    Can be worth to remove a zoanthrope for adding extended carapace to the first Fex and chitin + extended carapace to the second one?

    After a couple of games at my local gamestore and received some hints from my players friends ( chaos space marines and space marines), i did this new list:

    Not really sure about WoN on the gaunts and warriors are my biggest "problem", want to play them but seems not really effective .

    hmm how much do your friends actually know about the nids? because marines players wont give you the best advice for your army. Dont forget, you did actually have a very decent list, but its up to you. So here we go

    your second tyrant is illegal, you cant take carapce and wings, it has to be warp feild instead. Otherwise, replace miasma with implant attack and you have a very effective unit that kills Hq's and infantry alike.

    im not totally sure what your trying to do with the venom/ tallon tyrant, the cannon isnt brilliant on tyrants, but if you want to keep it then go for it but usually its best to focus tyrants, combat or shooting.

    you dont want a venom cannon on warriors either, either give them a strangler or another deathspitter, bacause you will always get a shot off with them. Also remove senses, they dont need it for 1 inch of scatter. If you want a very effective unit thats still cheap, just use 6 deathspiter tallon warriors. they pump out a hail of S5 shots every turn and can pile in an assault if you need the bodies. If you have the points, give them carapace too.

    No complaints regarding the troops.

    Fexs are also ok, but why do you have the WS on them? bit of a waste really, except for the combat one.

    if you cant find the points consider giveing them the 2+ save, its worth it to wade through the small arms
