well yea, i used to play warhammer on and off, and then i stopped for a long time. now i've been recently doing some throwback games with some friends of mine and i'll be playing as tyranids in a 2000 point battle against my friend's ultramarines

we're proxying a shitload of a stuff so theres no way for me to tell what hes going to use

anyways, heres the list i came up with... critique would be nice? i'm playing on saturday so quick responses are greatly appreciated

1 broodlord w/ extended carapace and 10 genestealers w/ scything talons and acid maw – 320 pts

16 toxin sac/devourer gaunts – 160 points

16 toxin sac/devourer gaunts – 160 points

Carnifex w/ adrenal glands (ws), extended carapace, barbed strangler, crushing claws, enhanced senses –167 points

2 lictors – 160 points

6 warriors, 3 with barbed strangler, 3 with rending/scything claws and talons, all with enhanced carapace – 162 points

Carnifex w/ enhanced senses, extended carapace, 2 venom cannons – 188 points

Hive Tyrant w/ lashwhip and bonesword, scything talons and warp blast and extended carapace - 143 points

16 hormagaunts w/ both adrenal glands and extended carapace - 208 points

16 hormagaunts w/ both adrenal glands and extended carapace - 208 points

3 raveners w/ scything talons and rending claws – 120 points

A few Suggestions.

1. Drop the acid maw on the steelers. Flesh hooks better for the them and give the broodlord the same. less points too.

2. crushing claws on a strangler fex??? Waste of points

3. warriors can only have 1 strangler a brood

4. tyrant is going to be a fire magnet. Give him a guard or two

5. Drop A VC on the fex at least

6. Carapace on HG waste of points. drop it and get more or upgrade another unit

7. Zoans a must for any decent nid player.

8. Maybe drop a lictor. I like them but, you can only get 1 reserve re-roll. A little pricey but, good. If you get him into combat make sure he has help. 5+ armor not so good.

Most of these suggestions should shave off quite a few points That is my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.
