Instead of warp field, use mutable Tyrant and give him ext. carapace. This way You'll save 10 points.

And with a mutable Tyrant You can pay the points and get Enhanced Senses too!

So, for the price of a front-Codex Tyrant with WField, You can get a mutable Tyrant with ExtCar, EnhSen, and it's still a few points cheaper than the front-Codex one.

I think gamesworkshop must have screwed up there, unless they are trying to tempt people into using mutable genus on their HT, if so its working

I think GW rationale went like this:

"Hey, let WField be the exact same as ExtCar on a Tyrant! Surely most people won't bother gluing on a few pieces of extra carapace, when they can get the same thing for a 'few' points more and no modeling!"

Sorry, GW, but my modelling skills are good enough to glue those few extra carapace pieces on and save a load of points I can use to make my Tyrant more lethal!

GW rationale, part two:

"Hey, if someone wants to take a fully biomorphed Tyrant, they can't do it since there are 9 biomorphs! So, they'll have to take WField to be able to drop ExtCar and take all the other 'morphs!"

Sorry GW, but I don't really think Flesh Hooks are too smart a choice on a Winged Tyrant... So if I really want an über-Tyrant, I rather drop the FH and keep everything else, including the rather cheap ExtCar!

So there You have it!

I wouldn't have psychic scream anyway, unless you're playing Ulthwe or Tzeentch, which are pretty rare. It depends on what bio-weapons you have, my tyrant has Talons+rending claws so i give it warp blast, but it depends on what your army is made up of. Hell, sometimes with hundreds of gaunts I should consider catalyst...

Pyshic scream worked well when I played against Tau, thanks to their relatively low Ld, but against any pysker army I would suggest using psychic scream.
