    I have been building and I just can't decide! I LOVE hive guard and would love 6 in 1000 points. Is that to much? How about

    == HQ ==
    Tervigon (1) - Scything Talons, Stinger Salvo, AG, Toxin Sacs, Cat = 200 pts.

    == Elites ==
    Hive Guard Brood (3) = 150 pts.
    Hive Guard Brood (3) = 150 pts.

    == Troops ==
    Termagant Brood ( 20 ) - Fleshborer = 100 pts.
    Hormagaunt Brood ( 20 ) - Toxin Sacs = 160 pts.

    == Heavy Support ==
    Trygon Prime (1) - Containment Spines, Trygon Prime Upgrade, Synapse Creature, Shadow In The Warp = 240 pts.

    == Total ==
    1000 pts.
    That gives me 1000 points exactly, the ability to create more troops, 12 str 8 shots at BS 4 (Love the Hive guard) and a total of 24 T6 wounds and 48 Models.

    If you are brand new to the game, you might want to start a little slower. That being said, this is a great deal, even if you don't end up using a lot of the list. The Carnifexes can be proxied / converted for Tfexes and Tervigons. This is a fairly complete army that covers all of the bases, and gives you options as you move forward and want to try new things. The only things I would suggest buying on top of this are:

    - Broodlord
    - Hive Guard
    - Doom / converted Zoanthrope

    but even those additional are optional for fine-tuning a list.

    Just be prepared to have 50 Hormagaunts sitting in a corner unused somewhere, collecting dust with Old One Eye. (just my opinion).

    Or he could run a list around those Hormoguants and put all them in a list with the two Trygons and what ever else he needs to cover anti-tank...

    ...it would be awesome, and no one would ever knock you for having a cheesy army.

    Back on topic, buy the units. It seems that you are already set on getting these from your friend. May i be the first to welcome you to the swarm.
    Army's used: Space Wolves, Tomb Kings, High Elves, Tyranids, Tau and Eldar.

    If you're set on having six HG, split them into 3x2, not 2x3. That way you can take out more vehicles for the same number of models and points.

    The Prime upgrade is unnecessary in my opinion, you have plenty of Synapse already. That then gives you enough to fill out your Termagant broods.

    That being said, do alternate between Hormie and Termie based lists regularly, it keeps you thinking and it's better for you as a player.

    My favorite models are the HQ Tervigon and the Hive Guard but I am worried people will call me cheap with 6 of them at 1k. I mean I love big bugs but I know you can't run ONLY big bugs and from what I hear warriors are kinda pathetic. The second I get the swarm I am rebase coating them and starting from scratch. I am thinking Camo Nids with Brown/Green Camo Caprices and some color body or Green Caprice with brown bodies. I will take a photo and show you what I got on sunday.

    Yeah... I think four would do at 1000 points.

    Thank you all for the help so far! I was thinking these would be my 2 lists for 1k and 1500. I really like the 1500 list a lot more it has a good amount of big bugs and 60 + created skittering swarms!

    They should be just fine, but they are the typical lists so your opponent will expect it.

    I finally got them! Now the funny thing is there is a 1000 tournament next weekend then a 1500 team the week after and I was hoping to use the figures I have. Is it possable to make a VIABLE tournament 1k army from the figures listed below.

    94 Hormagaunts
    62 Termagaunts
    20 Genesteelers
    2 Venomthropes
    3 Zoanthropes (2 at the moment he is looking for the 3rd)
    3 Hive Guard (I think I will buy 1 more)
    4 Carnevians (Assembled as Vanilla Carn but I have the arms)
    1 old style Carnevian
    2 Pyrovores! (I forgot to put them in the first list. Can I convert them to Biovores easily?)
    2 Trygons
    Old one Eye
    Tyranid Prime
    Hive Tyrant

    The model I want most is 2 Tervigons I love them as a troop choice to give a unit of Termagaunts sexygoodness.

    How many models should I have at 1000 points? I am sticking near 60 and I feels small.

    (Whole Lot of Niddys below! Argh must sort now!)
