    Combat Patrol

I have a Combat Patrol tournament coming up in a few weeks, and I was hoping to get some ideas on what to take. I will be facing Eldar, SM for sure, DH, and who knows what else, so it will need to be flexible. The mission will be Annihilation, there's an hour time limit, and all rules apply (Infiltrate, Scouts, Deep Strike, etc.).

My thought was for my HQ to be a Broodlord, but with the GS's it gets expensive quickly. I'd like to pop him up as a surprise. Alternatively I could take a Lictor (since you don't have to have an HQ) for that sudden surprise when he shows up somewhere.

My other alternative would be to take high numbers of troops and skip the HQ altogether.

The actual models I have are:

    3 Warriors
    1 Lictor
    1 Zoanthrope
    36 Termagaunts
    16 Genestealers
    50 million Spore Mines
    1 Broodlord

I know its not much of a horde yet, but I'm working on it!

    Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

i suggest that you take lots of gribblies with at least one synapse creatue (or in your case take the 3 tyranid warriors) as a horde swarm tend to need at least one to be effective even at such little points.i suggest a unit of maybe 8 genstealers to infiltrate as the can happily rip a hole in any thing in 400 pts.just a few ideas.

If you can get Ravenors, Id suggest using them.
You'll get 2 for the price fo the Lictor, and their better for CC with infantry.
As of Tyranid 5th Ed. codex I have the Gaunts I wanted. I did, however, loose the sniperfexs I relied upon and they were more important then the gaunts.

Slightly off topic, but including all the scenario special rules in a combat patrol game is dumb. It will give a huge advantage to armies that can make use of them and a handicap those that can't. There's a reason why the combat patrol scenario doesn't use any of them.

Stealers need a Broodlord to infiltrate and the Broodlord has too many wounds to be used in a CP game.
