LO Meet 2009 - Information Topic.

Weekend of July 3rd, 4th and 5th

Once again its time for the next meet information thread! This year it will be our 5th meet! Which in itself is something to be proud about. We have come from a meet of about 13 to over 30 and it always shows promise of growing more each year.
Sadly, this year won't see the booking of a big game table due to the fact Warhammer World has been fully booked for the entire year! In fact, the only reason we are holding the meet on this weekend is because I was told that it was classed as a Free Gaming weekend, and was void from being booked or used for big events. So, in actual fact, although we can't book a big game table, this should be the first meet which hasn't clashed with someone elses event

So, what is in store for this years meet? Well, as some of you will already be aware of, LO was challenged recently, so through out the weekend there will be games on to do with that.
The raffle will also be back, and tickets will be on sale for that from the Friday. Remember though, that the raffle pays for itself, so the more tickets you guys buy, the more prizes there will be

There are things in the works also. I hope to include a themed quiz this year, but I'm having trouble figuring out a decent location and time for this, so it may not happen.
Also in the works will be best painted army award for the weekend... however, this may or may not be limited to the Team Shroom vs Team LO challenge.

Once again 16 and 17 year olds are welcome, but anyone younger will not be allowed. It should also be known that anyone between the ages of 16 to 17 might get left out in regards to events that are held in the evening. People will often split off into groups and go for a meal or a few drinks in the evenings in Nottingham City Centre, so anyone of those ages needs to be aware of this.

As of the minute, there are no evening events planned. People are free to plan their own evening entertainment. There are a nuumber of decent places to eat and good pubs within Nottingham Centre.

More is still to come in regards to a weekend line-up, so expect to see more about that in the coming weeks
In regards to hotels I suspect most of us will use the Gresham, but there are others that people have used in the past.

I hope to get a small word doc up soon with all the details in, but again, that will appear in the next week or so.

Unless you live in Nottingham anyway, or can come with a parent or guardian. At least I believe thats thats the law in regards to things like that.

Cuz you can fly unaccompinied minor... just need parents consent.

No, I'm talking about the actual event. Staying in a city that you may not have visited before (Or even country in some cases). In a hotel, with a bunch of people from the Intarwebs. For a whole weekend, possibly longer if you live in another country.

As far as I have been told under 16's would need a parent or guardian with them.

Just wondering what is the plan besides the challange games between team L-O and Team shroom? I'm working on my Fantasyarmy (hoping I can come and get into the country with it) so curious what the rest of the people are bringing around and which point lvl?

I am considering attending, and I would ideally like to run a painting contest of some kind...
But we will see.
I even have a super-special, actually-good-and-everything prize in mind.

It would actually be worth winning, if I can get it to work.
