    Dear god.... that is a bit scary.

    A VC list with cannons.... *shudders* not pleasant in the least, but I quite like the list. The only thing I would suggest is dropping the command from both units of black knights and getting 10 more ghouls. This would allow you 2 units of 11, which will help flank and take out opposing light units.

    As always though, great list.

    Now that's a serious Necromancer list! I hope you have a lot of extra skeletons and zombies; you may actually be finishing battles with more models on the table than you start with! I may have to try something like this sometime.

    A quick question, though: Why Lore of Death and Spell Familiar on the Master Necromancer? Is there a certain spell you were hoping to get? I'd probably be more inclined to give LoD and Spell Familiar to the mounted Necromancer, making him able to move into places where he could use missiles and leave the Master with Necromancy for those huge IoN spells. Few things are better than summoning a unit with almost full ranks out of thin air.

    Also, if you can find the points, you might want to consider giving the Necro that isn't maxed out on points (the mounted one) either the Black Periapt (stealing an extra die is always nice) or a Dispel Scroll (just in case someone casts with a freakishly high roll).

    Yup, as many as I can :-) Take a look at my "Death Magic for the Dead" thread and you'll see why.

    Black Periapt is nice and I'm tooling around a bit to fit it in. The Necro Lord is going to seated in a nice big clump of Zombies for safety purposes. The Black Knight units are only 5 models strong, with a lucky cannon shot or a mistake on my part, he can be dead very quickly. Dispel Scrolls are nice but IMO VC doesn truely need them. I'm going to post on this topic too.

    Even if Katalyst does find room for the Periapt, he would have to drop the Book since they are both arcane items.

    I'm really not a fan of the Galloper guns, but otherwise I think this is a fantastic example of a viable necro army.

    It would be cool to see a banshee or two on the offchance (pretty good chance) of you getting Doom and Darkness on your Necro Lord. That combo could make the banshee's far more than just a "hit or miss" unit.

    strike that last comment, I went and read Doom and Darkness and it doesn't actually do what I thought it did. It doesn't lower their Leadership, just gives them negative modifiers to leadership tests

    I think I would prefer one unit of 10 Black knights, it would free up some points to get the Black Periphet or Banner of the Barrows possibly.

    Also no dispel magic scrolls.......
