    Alternative wight model *Please move*

    Hello everyone

Do any of you have an idea on an alternative wight king model? I'm thinking on converting one of the grave guards with different legs and torso but I'm afraid it won't stand out enough from the rest of them. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

Wrong place to post, should be in the main VC section.

Well you can combine empire bits, the empire general/standard bearer box to get a good standard bearer. Problem is the new grave guard models are really modern and thin where as they've kept empire chunky and oldschool. I couldn't do or think of anything better than that. For a wight lord on foot i have no idea, i wouldn't wight for anything other than a standard bearer. There are some good old skeleton champions on foot which would be ideal, but they're hard to get old of, one i can think of is a cursed legion (i think) unit champion, its a pretty good model

I would either just use a random hero choice with a suitable weapon, then give it a skelleton head, or wait until that mordor dark marshal from LotR comes out, in my opinion he would look perfect with a shield.

@ original: IIRC aren't the LotR minis of a smaller scale than WHFB and 40k minis? If so it may be worth comparing them in size before hand.

As for the main question of this post. Well I'm presently using a dwarf thane for mine. The Chaos infantry boxes are also really good places to look for bodies that you can add a skull to for a quick and easy conversion. Otherwise I'd suggest a combination of the Plastic empire heroes box and the plastic HE heroes box.

I've used a LOTR Castellan of Dol Guldur model as a Wight Lord. I didn't really notice any scale issues, to be honest. You will however need a spare square base if using a LOTR model (not normally much of a problem, to be honest)

Good to know about the difference in scale being not all that great. I think some LotR minis may just make their way into my army now. Thanks for the info.

    Thanks for all replies everyone!

I will absolutely consider the LotR models now, and if I discover them to be too small for my liking I'll be sure to pick up some bits next time I visit my local GW.
