Clarification on IoN.. what models are infantry?

For clarification... which units in our book are considered infantry in relation to the spell Invocation of Nehek? Which units only get one wound back per casting and which get the regular amount? I'm thinking mostly about Dire Wolves, Fell Bats and Black Knights here.

    Thanks in advance!

Dire wolves and black knights are both cavalry.

    Fel bats are infantry.

Just look at the referance in the back page (p96) in the vampire book it says whether they are infantry, monsters, cavalry, chariots, or mounts. Or this link and download:

Does it strike anyone else as odd that we can summon Fell Bats (a Special choice) at d6 per casting and we can only summon a single Dire Wolf (a Core choice that costs less than a Fell Bat, ever per wound) per IoN?

Just for double clarification.. IoN allows us to add wounds to a unit, so we add d6 wounds to a Fell Bat unit, not d6 Fell Bats, correct? What happens if I have Summon Creatures of the Night and am increasing a unit above starting strength and get an odd number on my d6? Do I get a Fell Bat with one wound, or is the extra wound wasted?

You summon a fell bat with one wound.

As for dire wolves vs fell bats: if you could summon dire wolves as easily as fell bats, would you have much reason to use the bats? Dire wolves can deny ranks, which bats can't do. One wound of wolves = 2 unit strength as well. It would be nice if there was a middle ground (say, Dire Wolves gain D3 wounds) but I guess it's already complicated enough.

Yes you'd get a bat with just one wound, but if you were to cast Invokation on the same unit of Fell Bats a second time, the bat with one wound is going to get healed up to the maximum number of his wounds before any new bats appear.
A Tau Ethereal was thought to have been killed today by a Bloodthirster. However, many Tau were seen fleeing the scene and are considered suspects.

This means that a) I'm not going to be using IoN on the Wolves... they're cheap, so I should just start with and useful number on the table and b) that I'm at 3000 pts I'm going to have about 10 Fell Bats accompanied by a flying Vampire Count running around my opponent's backfield by turn 3.
