I'm surprised that no one else has commented. I really like this list!

?????? Nothing......????? Or is the list just good as is, nothing to tweak.
At the risk of sticking my neck out.....
I think overall its too small to be really competitive, at 6 units and a dragon.
I think that an opponant who can shut down the magic phase with good shooting has the measure of this list - HE with many bolt throwers, mages and vortex shard for example, or a slann list with cube of darkness in it.
Also you have zero magic defense in this list? Get a scroll at least!
Perhaps if you were going to run it you could change the first vampires LOD to summon creatures of the night to allow you to expand your bat unit, then at least you can screen the rest of your army a bit more effectively.
Arms are an instrument of evil, No measure for thoughtful men until there fail all other choice but sad acceptance of it.

While I do like Cairn Wraiths there tends to be simply too much magic weaponry out there for them to be truly effective. I would remove the costly wraith unit and add a unit of grave guard, and a few more skeleton units to give your enemys more targets to shoot at, because at the moment your army is quite small for a 2250 battle.
originally i didn't have the periapt and had 2 scroll, but i kinda felt that 6 DD was enough. I think i might try 5 DD and a Scroll, usually only need one. Good point about the units, i think my biggest weakness. I designed this list because there is a tournament in early October, and i wanted to be able to paint all my models for it. I am going to school, so don't have much time to paint. I figure 3 units (one infantry, one cavalry, one monster) is all I have time for. Anything else and i'll have to start pushing it to be finished although i could do it.
Currently painted i have:
4 Vampire characters (all on foot)
20 crypt ghools
4 dire wolves and a dire pony
1 corpse cart (balefire)
4 Fell Bats
5 wraiths with banshee (converted as purple flaming skeletons throwing fireballs)
1 spirit host (for wind of undeath)
9 Black Knights (bret. Horsemen)
1 White King on horse
1 White King on foot with great weapon (warrior preistess)
Working with what i god could someone help make an army list for this? I think a zombie dragon would be fun and not too risky with my lord set up in the previous list.
Hey a couple of things. First of all the zombie dragon sounds like a cool idea. I reckon give it a try.
Although I would tweak the vamp lord and consider removing the crown of the damned and maybe go for the wristbands of black gold. Two reasons for this. 1) Stupidity is so annoying, it could happen on a vital charge, or it could prevent magic for a turn. and 2) The main threat to this guy is likely to be at range, so a better ward save against shooting could help.
The same thing goes for magic, like starshowerblade said there's very little magic defence for this points level. I normally try to get 5 dispel dice at 1500 pts, but playtest the list and see what you come up against.
And instead of replacing the cairn wraiths with graveguard maybe some blood knights would fit in? I know it doesn't help the model count but the army seems to be quite geared to getting into combat quickly so they might be a good investment? (with flag of the blood keep to protect from shooting)
Looks nice, maybe drop some of the ghouls and skeletons in the units and just do your vampires up abit try and get book of arkhan in there 2. Also you could change the build of your lord go for the classic redfury dread lance combo. Then just have flayed haulberk so he's got some armour. You may thing stupid on LD 10 is ok but that one turn where u need the charge you fail it then get flanked, reared the turn after by a unit with 3 ranks bsb warbanner etc.

Its obvious that you want a ward save on your general (what VC general doesn't?). Instead of risking stupidity with the crown of the damned, I suggest throwing out the flayed hauberk and using Walach's Blood Hauberk instead, as it confers a 4+ armour save and a 5+ ward save. Exchange the walking death power for the dread knight power and your general becomes very tough to kill. You don't need the walking death power if you kill everything in one round of combat, which is quite possible with a WS7 S5 Infinite Hatred, Red Fury Vampire Lord.
Which vampire do u like better? Can't use dreadknight as i have to ride a nightmare!
1. Vampire Lord - 730
Zombie Dragon, lvl 3, Red Fury, Infinite Hatred, Beguile, Blood Drinker, Walach's Bloody Hauberk, Black Periapt
2. Vampire Lord - 720
Zombie Dragon, lvl 3, Red Fury, Dark Acolyte, Avatar (hand weapon, sheild), Dreadlance, Wristband of Black Gold
3. Vampire Lord - 730
Zombie Dragon, lvl 3, Red Fury, Infinite Hatred, Beguile, Carstein Ring, Balefire Spike, Enchanted Shield
Could drop lvl 3 on the 2nd vampire lord and use the 55 points to boost up army as lvl 3 is good enough.
