Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hello all. I'm taking a great risk with exposing my lists to criticism...you see, I'm a very arrogant and confident person, but I will try to stay open minded. Besides, if I can stay level enough, I like tossing around ideas. I am experienced with Warhammer, but fairly new to the revitalised Vampire Counts. I wanted to get into them back in the last edition, but monetary restrictions made that...unlikely. But now, I have just assembled enough for a rather stable 1,000 pt. list. It has had many great successes and a few close defeats. But enough of my ramblings, on to the list!
Sword of Battle(15)
Aura of Dark Majesty(50)
Banner of the Dead Legion(25)
14xSkeleton Warriors (112)
The first vampire is the army general. Tucked inside the skeleton unit with the banner, I find that he can usually cause enough hell, coupled with the doubled unit strength and the -1 to Leadership from Aura of Dark Majesty, to make most enemy units with even decent Leadership flee. I always drop any spell he rolls for Raise Dead, so he can raise up units of Zombies right behind any unit he wishes to break. The second vampire is, of course, the true mage of the army. I either keep or drop his spells, depending on the rolls, but that can be said of most any mage. The Cadaverous Curiass gives him a save along with protection from a couple of the more esoteric threats out there. That and a cushy (or crunchy) unit of skeleton meat shields keeps him alive and kicking most of the time. The Necromancer is there purely for support. I sometimes change the spell I give him, but it's usually Raise Dead since both vampires automatically have Invocation of Nehek. The Corpse Cart with Unholy Lodestone is a must have in my opinion. A big shambling monster that can make my units Always Strike First and bolsters IoN? DUH! And finally, my babies, the Wraiths. Two wraiths and a banshee might seem like small money, but at 1000 points, they are hell to most armies, especially those with low average leadership like Beastmen or Skaven. Tactical use of terror, Ghostly Howl, and strategically summoned units of zombies has twice now won me a game without a single sword being swung! Okay, I'm done now. Comments and thoughts are welcome. Insults and harsh criticisms will result in a verbal war. G'bye.
Oh damnit all...being new to this site, I didn't realise that a 0 and a ) would result in a cyclops face! Please forgive the retardedness of my thread's appearance. Hopefully, with this apology to guide you, you will all be able to deduce that those are all point costs ending in zero. Again, sorry. Ask and I shall clarify.
