My last list that i took to a tourney placed 3`d of 34 players.
I was magic heavy with a lv 4-2-2-2. 3 x 10 man skellie units as base and using TG and Wraiths as the killing units.
I was thinking of making a vc army with a few more solid units and fast moving hard hitting tacks.
So here we go.
vamb of black gold
book of arkhan
lord of the dead
helm of commandment
corpse cart w/ balefire
5 black knights w/barding
5 fell bats
Plan is to use lord, vargh x2 and black knights to work togehter to pick out the flank units and work inn where the (hopefully larger by summon) zombie and skellie units hold middle with the corpsecart backing.
And then using bats for picking on warmachines, small units and mages.
I got very few changes to recommend... But, the Standard to the Zombie Horde seems only like a waste of points for me... It's too risky to put such a unit with a standard (if the opponent kills the Unit - easy as a pancake - they'll get another 100 VP)
Guess That's All!
Yeah i kinda noticed that after i posted it
Kinda a waste to put banner on unit that IS there to die after 1-2 rounds of combat.
Just a speed bump afterall..
Guessing i will take the banner and put it on the other skellie unit to give them full command as well.
The Dragon can be as much of a liability as an asset. It can be shot from under you or at least made to limp form shooting.
I have killed 3 zombie dragons so far with my Vamp lord leaving my opponents lord with his thumb up his bum.............
If your going to take it you have to be able to deliver it into combat when you want,,,,,,,,,,
Therefore you need to know all spells so you can gaurantee VHD and at least 2 power stones to drive it home
give your lord on the dragon blood drinker. It helps it to survive longer and it gives you more room to become offensive with it
Played this list now 7 times vs
-wood elf (win 14-6 )
-O&G(win 20-0 )
-Ogre kingdoms (win 20- 0 )
-dark elf x 2 one win 14-6, one loss 4-16)
The two losses my dragonlord got either shot off the mounts or the other way around,
the draw saw my lord die to a Greater demon after kicking it`s ass with one wound left, my dragon finished it off.
The wins come witha combined charge og the vargh`s and black knights hitting the flanks, the dragonlord doing most of he`s dmg alone vs warmachines, chars and units that i get flank or rear charge on.
Thinking i after 2 losses and draws i will change my dragon out to a 5 man Bloodknight unit fully tooled, taking one vargh out and using the points left for boosting my skellies or getting some wolves inn
