    give all of the skellies spears and only give the standard bearer command upgrade, not the full command.

    Unless you are using special rules, you are only allowed to have up to a max of 150 points for heroes and their gear. That vampire alone is way over budget.
    Because of this rule, VC is allowed to take any of their heroes or nominate a champion of a regular unit to lead their warband and the army doesn't crumble until your nominated leader dies.

    Yeah, you've got me! I read the rules earlier today (after posting this) and realised that I indeed made a mistake. I'm probably just going to go with dark acolyte and use the remaining points for black knights (you said it yourself cavalry are deadly in this low of points, not to mention ones that can move through terrain freely). It's either this or a zombie horde =).
