First off I'd split the Dire Wolves into 2 groups of 5. No reason to constrict their mobility, 2 units can screen, march block and all that good stuff better than 1. I would also consider switching out those Wraiths for a Varghulf, seeing as you don't have much magic defence and DE are typically a very good magic army. Otherwise Ghouls and GG are great choices here, only suggestion would be to try and fit some fell bats in if you can to hunt down missile troops. Otherwise as a whole this looks really solid.
I agree that splitting the dire wolves up would be a good idea, 1st because it will give me 2 seperate units to lay down during the deployment phase, 2nd since there immune to psycology I dont have to worry about them breaking due to loss of models. Therefore having two groups would be benificial, for instance in the latest match vs DE I lost 7 of 10 Dire Wolves to one unit of rep. x-bow men in 1 round, If I used 2 groups he could only kill a max of 5 and that would have caused him to shoot his RBT at my 2nd group of wolves instead of directly at my black knights (3 wolves didnt block LOS enough)
Also the reason I took Cairn Wraiths is because I knew his army was more Shooting heavy than magic heavy and a Vargulf could get chewed up pretty quickly if they were able to get LOS. As a new player I figured he would struggle vs etheral units much like he did in my first VC vs DE match. Also my Vargaulf is NiB still and im waiting to put him together until I get a drill and pin his wings.
Latest Matches(Since I switched to VC):
1000 Pt - VC vs DE - Win - Used Wraiths and BK to charge through a river into his flank. Core tied up his melee.
1000 Pt - VC vs DE (TK player) - Loss - Would have won, Fleed with some skels (I realize you cant flee as a charge reaction now) and a hero of his got double VP for killing as an overrun. After 6 turns I had more VP but due to his item and my error I got hosed.
1000 Pt - VC vs TK - Win - Used Blood Knights and 2 Ghoul summoning Vampires, nothing could contend with knights after I rolled his chariots, Tomb Scorpion almost killed my general.
1500 Pt - VC vs Skaven - Loss - He took Abomination (overpowered), Blood Furnace (overpowered), 2 Ratlingguns(Way Overpowered) + core. Very Experianced player, ive played him several times as empire, and I hope were doing his ratlinguns properly they shouldnt be more powerful than an Empire HVG and less points, should they?
1500 Pt - VC vs DE - Win - Used Wraiths, Extra Zombies, and 2 dedicated Ghoul units with Vampires. Got a very good Raise Dead spell off to buy me time to get in good flank positions.
Next: Maybe Lizardmen or any previous army (DE/TK/Skv)

As a rule of thumb I absolutely love wraiths, so I completely support their use, i just wasn't sure about the magic risk, because they get pretty squishy against magic. They're even more amazing if you can squeeze a Banshee in there. Otherwise like I said maybe for more points you might want some Fell Bats for those pesky warmachines. It's good to see a like minded player though, ghouls and wights for the win!
Oh and I'm starting to think that it's more effective to not start with too many zombies on the board and use the sceptre and the large number of models raised by IoN to just make the zombie units. That way my units are a bit buffer and I'm not losing anything really, if not gaining more mobility. Just a thought.
Touche, im going to need a new game plan next time I face him. He will see wraiths coming next time.
