Welcome to Librarium Online!
Having only dabbled in fantasy slightly before with a varying army of Dark Elves, I thought it was a good time, what with the new edition of Warhammer, to start one of my aspirational armies, The Vamps.
Having not acquired the new rulebook (yet), I havent included any new common magic items
Please comment on whats good and what i've done wrong.
Sword of Battle
Invocation of Nehek
20 Crypt Ghouls
20 Grave Guard
Banner of the Barrows
Total 1000 points
Idea is for Vamp to stay in Skeleton Block, increasing size of the unit and providing a decent fighter, as well as propelling them forward with the Book, whilst necromancer raises zombie in front to give cover. Ghouls to give a strong CC unit, Corpse cart to follow them and give them ASF. Grave guard to do what they do best.
If there is anything I should Sub out for something else or use instead of something, or if I've done something stupid with my Heroes, please tell me.

Wow, apparently I can be right...
A Total Fantasy Noob can make something that needs no comment.... really?
-Dont put a unit of 20 in ranks 10 wide, its pointless, i find you need at least 40 per unit for hordes, to make it effective.
-corpse carts are pretty crap now, i converted mine to a black coach because it was so bad, id drop that
-dont take zombies in your list, just raise them up ( put the points into more skellies or ghouls)
-spirit hosts are very expensive, if you drop those and the corpse cart you could get some grave guard(best unit in the list imo )
-Necromancer is pretty good, keep him in there, with ion
-Try this build for general, lotd and book aren't that great really;
Sword of whatever...(15pt ones)
-So theres my advice, trim the points and browse the common magic items when get the chance, there's some good stuff in there.
bound spells arent so good anymore, which was its best feature
Also it really does suck in combat, thunderstomp isnt exactly effective when youre strength 2...
with forbiden lroe (shadow) However you can make it S7 for its 2d6 A and its Thunderstomp also becomes S7 then checked and confirmed with GW
To the poster, your heroes need to drop by 5points or they are over the 25% for heroes, other than ditching the corpse cart to pump up the Grave guard the list looks fine. I would consider taking light instead of shadow btw, the lore will give you a ranged missle + a -1 to all to hit and warmachines to fire at you on a 12+ is invaluable in a army that has no war machine hunters.
