ok heres the concept as to a building block which will grow bigegr on roughly 500 pts blocks. Some units / characters will just be plain replaced as i go upwards
500 pts limit - starting with battlion
15 skeles, FC
necro - IoN, Vahns dance (spelling error most likly feel free to pull me up)
Necro - raise dead (for zombies as tar pit)
500 points exactly
Ok i know some people hate skeles now and some people will scream to throw the CC out the window and nto even to build it.
But even a S2 monster can do some damage 2D6 attacks and Thunder stomp and if im lucky enough to pop the ASF ability i'll have lots of fast ghoul attacks

Ok after getting my army book back this seems to me like a good starting point as im also going to be attempting to write some fluff for one of the necros whom i am going to have ascend in to vampiredom
the other otpion for heros was a single vampire with aspect of death HWS and ironcurse icon as i know im gonna be hitting dwarfs and skaven at these points levels but twice the channel chance and picking my spells Vs IoN + 1 random spell and 1 chance to channel seems that it will work betetr and with my experiance in 8th with my dark elves andmagic the extra caster is a must.
Plus i will personally only have to buy one box of ghouls to make the list work as my friend is gettign me the vamp battlion at the end of this week and i brought the Empire battle wizard box yesterday to use as two necro's.
ok had my battalion for just over a week now played some games getting my wife to use my dark elves to test some asic theorys at this level.
what i have found.
Two Necromancers are not needed as one performs the same job for the loss of one channel roll. Which i only made approximatly 30% of the time anyway.
So my new concept list reads more like this
Necromancer:- all 3 spells , Scepter de Noirot - 120 pts
Corpse cart: - Loadstone 100 pts
10 crypt ghouls: - 80
20 skeletons :- Full Command - 200
The skeltons act as a bunker for the necro wile the corbse cart moves along side the ghouls are more to fill points at this level but actually still hold there own even at only 10 strong as they basicly just back up the large Zombie tar pit summoned with raise dead which with the scetper gives me between 10 and 12 zombies on 1st raise then with IoN + Loadstone i add between 6 and 11 more per cast.
