Ok, some things you'll need to take note of:
Your Wight King can't have the additional hand weapon and the Sword of Might. Because the sword of might is a magical weapon, you'll always have to use that. And the extra attack granted by the AHW only counts if thats the weapon you're using. So you can drop that and save yourself a few points.
For your lord, I'm no a fan of the Silvered Steel. I think its overpriced, especially since we have the flayed hauberk. But if you really like the high armor saves, then I guess its a matter of play-style. I would, however, try to find the points to make him at least lvl3. Magic has taken alot of ups and downs with the new addition, but alot of people tend to like the main benifit of adding your wizard level to your casting (or dispelling) roll. That being said, if your opponent takes a mage lord, you have half as many dice and need to roll higher than them on each spell (since they'll be at +4 and you're only +2). Even the odds a bit, and go for at least lvl 3.
Zombies are nice, but I try not to spend my points on them. If I want zombies, I'll raise them. The sole exception being if my opponent is bound to have certain elite units. Example: I played against HE last week, and brought a unit of 40 zombies for the sole purpose of tieing up his swordmasters. It filled out my core points too, which as nice, but ultimately it was just a tarpit. Useless points. Try to put the points elsewhere unless you're using them to meet the 25% requirment.
To suppliment your low wizard level characters, I would definitly get another balefire Corpse cart. A lot of people here will tell you that the CC has lost alot of its power, and this is true. The bound spell is no longer as useful as it was in 7th. But if you have balefire going around killing your opponents casting rolls, they'll waste more dice on each spell, giving you the upper hand. And in the event that you have soem spare dice left over, ASF is never a bad thing.
The Grave Guard are also in debate a lot where I play. The Great weapons are nice, but the Shield helps them live a little longer. Killing blow is killing blow, no matter which weapon it comes from. And the longer you stick around, the less you poof due to combat res. If you plan on going up against blocks that are bigger than you, I'd go with the shield. Again, might just be a personal preference, but its something to think about.
Ghouls. Love them. Two attacks, poison, T4.... Thats 3 attacks per model frontage (when counting 2nd rank supporting attacks), and that can add up fast. Only downside is they don't have the option for musicians, which makes it harder for them to keep up with units that can preform the swift reform. I still prefer ghouls to skeletons, but maybe thats simply I tend to face guys with a lot of attacks, and I have this strong need to match thier offensive power.
If you're going up against WoC, be prepared for mauraders. They rule the battlefeild now. A unit of 30 Korne marauders with greatweapons will destroy almost anything it comes to. In the old rules, theses guys were easy. But now that they'll still get that 15-20 attacks off at a higher weapon skill and wounding on 2's.... they just can't be matched. Be very weary, and engage with full force. I'm more afraid of a unit of these guys than I am of a tooled out Chaos Lord. At least the lord can be tied up in a challange with a skeleton that I keep raising back to life....
thanks for the advice man! I have sort of altered my list a bit to suit it. Any more before wednesday would be appreciated.
Ive seen some of his army in action in a few battles. He tends to favor Warriors of Tzeentch with a 4+ ward save (shield, mark of tzeentch and banner) over marauders...
so, to combat this, you need to hold him place with your anvils such as a hoard unit of skellies/ghouls/grave guard and then slap him silly with a hammer unit like a pair of vargulfs/black coach/knights in his flank...
adding the proper buffs to your units; speed of light + birona's timewarp and/or vanhel's danse will let you at least hold out a bit in combat... (only the grave guard will likely be better fighters at this point though due to their killing blow)
you'll also want to try and keep your general out of the fight - chaos characters will wreck vamp lords unless you've kitted them out to be a real fighter, and even then it can be a tight go...
anyways, hope this helps,
I have changed the list according to the advice. Any more would be appreciated, its almost wednesday evening (its tuesday here now, so in about 24 hours )
Any more 'last minute' advice would be nice
