Starting Vampire Counts, and wanted to try out a few lists.
Lv4 Master Necromancer+Staff of Damnation,Master of Death
Wight King BsB-110
Skeleton Warriorsx20+full command-130
Black Knightsx10+full command,lances,barding,Banner of the Barrows-340
Pls tell me what you think
I think the big gribbly ghoul on steroids should be 2 packs of 3. Also you better hope those black knights never die. They seem like the only thing that can bring REAL pain :l
What could I put in? To bring "REAL pain" to the table.
Vargs ok but after watching 3 WoC trolls pummel my varghulf with them only losing 1 troll i'm hesitant. Perhaps the black coach?
Oh and a back up lvl 1 necro might be nice. You know just so u dont insta lose because of a silly miscast
I would drop the ghast from the ghouls unless he is there to protect a character from chalenges.
I would also drop the BSB in favour of somthing else. WE dont need a bsb like everyone else except for combat res and -1 to crumble results. With no frenzied Varghiests in the list you wont have to reroll ld checks.
Drop the champion on the black knights. The extra attack probably isnt worth the upgrade. You keep the standard for combat res and the musician for quick reform and drawn combats.
I dont think i would bother with the Banner of Barrows either on this unit in a small points game. Sure it means your hitting on 4s alot of the time instead of 3s, but at this point limit that banner is just soaking up points. I would suggest putting a vampire in the unit like i take mine but it means you will loose etheral movement if thats what you were going for.
You can afford to drop a lvl on your necromancer. Untill 1500pts, in my opinion anyway, anything above lvl3 seems overkill.
