If you can take 9 ghouls instead of 8, do so. Here's why. Unlike the rest of your army, ghouls will run from combat. A unit of 8 ghouls only needs 2 casualties from magic or shooting to be panicked. A unit of 9 can take three casualties. Statistically, you're better off with nine.
Playing ogres should be fun. Those ghouls will be great. Posioned attacks against big, tough ogres will make your opponent furious. :p
With hand weapon, light armor, and shield, you would have a 4+ save in combat (5 against ogres). With spears you'd have 5+ in combat (6 against ogres). The lt armor might serve you better, but I don't always follow that advice myself. It's more attacks or better saves, whichever gamble you like better.
