I'd drop the banshee and recoup the points for more core troops, like skeletons and a couple more dire wolves. The banshee is iffy depending on your opponent, as well as being dependent on good dice. Go for something more reliable. I'd also use the freed points to increase the size of the ghoul units.

The tourney-winning VC lists I've seen never include rare units, and seldom do they have wights. Core units and fell bats, and probably spirit hosts, tend to do the trick, and are much cheaper. But if you just want an all around fun list, keep the banshee and don't change anything. It's solid as is.

As for the points, I doubt anyone will check them for you. It's seen as the sort of thing one is expected to do for one's self.

Yeah, I would check the points if I could find the Army Book or borrow my friend's one.

As to the Banshee, my friend doesn't leave without it, and always does well (He once minced about 300 Points with one...), and besides, the idea of an Etheral lady screaming her lungs out is cool.
The list isn't really designed for tournament play, as I don't play in tournaments (too many people out to win). The Ghouls units could use bolstering, I agree, but I like the idea of things like that, Spirit Hosts are great, but expensive, and since I'm going to be using my friend's Vampire Counts army for it (I'm letting him use which ever army I have so he gets to win for once, ), I can't get more than 1 Spirit Host, so I didn't go for it.

Invalid Thread Title. Thread titles must start with a points value in Brackets. i.e: "[2000] Vampire Counts."

    ??? ???
That's no help to me at all, and you didn't say anything like that about my previous Chaos army list either.
How was I supposed to know that exactly? It's a common rule amoungst Forums, I just took the usual Forum Rules (Ie, no swearing, spamming, trolling, flaming, racist, banned politic and religious talk, no porn, et cetera). I hate posting things like this...

It's mentioned around here somewhere... Can't remember where.

Three characters seems a fair bit for 1000 points, I would only take one or maybe two.. With two necromancers and a bound item you are going to be mincing in the magic phase, and I think 2 dispel scrolls are pretty useless. A lot of armies won't have magic at all, and those that do will probably only have one wizard so you can dispel them. Also I would get rid of the nightmare on the necromancer, it makes him an easy target as he has nothing to hide in with that list.

and since I'm going to be using my friend's Vampire Counts army for it (I'm letting him use which ever army I have so he gets to win for once,
Heh, I tried that theory too... My friend complained my Sylvanians were unbeatable with all the magic, so I gave him my tactica and army then took the reigns to his not so good ogres army, and promptly massacred him...

    I have three Characters because of a few reasons;
My friend likes Magic Heavy Armies, usually just Necromancers, whatever one of my Armies he choses, unless he goes for Dogs of War, he's going to have at least two Magi, I feel that Two Dispell Scrolls and 2 Necromancer's is going to be an adequate defence against it.

Of course, I'm going to be wrong.

I'm playing so many Characters on the assumtion that I will be able to kill any other Mages quickly, and if not, we're going to have a Magic Phase of Attrition.

As to the Nightmare, I agree about it. I just looked at the Necromancy Lore and found no Close Range Spells, so he'll go on foot and I'll take another Ghoul. That brings me to... 1001?

LoL, yeah, I've tried it before, only he didn't know about Arrer Boyz and and large units of Fast Cavalry. Mind you, I used one of my armies then...

I normally go for three characters at 1000 on the assumption that the troops need the support of those characters.

Strewart, I'm guessing that your opinion may be shaped by playing Sylvanian where magic's a certainty and necromancers aren't needed. For other VC armies, it's still the old roll of the dice that counts.

And I always have at least one fighter at 1000 pts, two at 2000.

All that to say, IMO three characters is good.

I also play Tomb Kings, Bretonnians, High Elves and have tried Ogres a couple of times. Actually now I think about it, Brets don't need magic, TK don't have to roll to cast either, HE are mainly defensive magic only, and Ogre magic is sh*t. Lol I guess I am used to certain magic or no magic. Still have the book of arkhan though, it is great.
