Slaughter my Sylvania list (Constructively)

Played a friend at WH today (he was chaos) and used this list, and i think its time for you vet's to rip her apart and help me out here (I lost), im wondering what i could do better.

This should be in the army list subforum to start with..

Kick out Mannfred, he is too expensive at this level. I would suggest going for either 2k or 3k, not somewhere in between, Sylvanians aren't as good in between because they don't get that extra lord choice but opponents get the potential for extra magic resistance.

So go for a vampire lord with upgraded magic level, he will be cheaper and put him on foot in a unit to help them win combat. Against chaos, use a great weapon to cut their armour. Post a combo and I'll comment on that too.

Don't worry about talisman on the thrall, it won't help much and he has that nice armour. I would suggest giving him wolf form so he can move very fast, and of course a great weapon. Perfect chariot hunter and lone mage killer, though you won't need him for artillery against chaos.

The levy are good, though I wouldn't use a musician. Not a lot of use IMO when you never flee, but if you have the spare points.. And probably just usehand weapon and shield, they can't fight for sh*t no matter what they use so may as well make them last longer.

Wolves are better MSU (multiple small units) so two units of 5.

I don't think fell bats negate ranks, so since there aren't any artilerry to hunt they may be a bit useless... Or maybe reduce the unit size and use them as march blockers, they'll be safe.

Without a hero on nightmare I would reduce the black knights to 5 models and use them as flankers or maybe front charge working with the coach on a flank. This should save points to throw another spirit host in.

Mb on where this goes, sorry. To be honest, i have 80+ zombies (Models) and yet im always worried that i wont make 2150 points. Any ideas on what more i could by with the points left over from Manfred? (After i buy a Lord) Usually i'd blow it on necros and magic items, but...

And another thing, i thought (vampire) lords got the frowny face unless its like 3k points?

They do for everything except Sylvanians. Sylvanians need all the magic they can get because there aren't any necromancers, so it is well worth taking a lord at 2k to get a bit of magic.

With the points, I would throw another thrall in. Always useful to support your big units.

Don't forget book of arkhan for the lord, very useful item.

Hero placement: The lord will go in one of the levy units, While the thrall (BS will join another, the 3rd will protect the flanks, and try to do some flanking. The 2nd thrall (Wolf Form) Will be my chariot chaser/mage killer/ war machine dismemberer etc...

I took out the knights for GG, and hopefully they will be uber.. and not die too much

Im thinking that even though the lord cant wear armor.. strange as im used to BD, but anyways i hope if he takes wounds that i can heal him with IoN maybe

Is this specifically for against chaos as your first post suggests? If so, then put a great weapon on the lord rather than second hand weapon, he will deal more damage that way.

If you do not have any characters that can summon or raise wolves (as you don't) then the Drakenhof banner is pretty useless, half its value is gone. I would suggest removing it. Take spectral attendants off your lord and give it to this thrall instead, personally I would not make him a BSB either and just give him a great weapon to support a unit. It doesn't do a huge amount, wight lords can do the job to give a banner to a wight unit if you really want it.

If you follow that advice, you have free points on the lord. Drop his talisman and give him the crown of the damned instead, the better ward will help him last and stupidity won't do much since he is ld10.

Umm.. no, rules. Such things are copywritten information from GW, posting on the net without their permission is illegal and could get the site shut down should they follow it up. So don't do it.

In future I suggest you remove things as such from the list. Or don't be lazy and type it yourself, not use AB.
