Welcome to Librarium Online!
With SoC lists being banned in tournament systems of late, I'm most likely going to have to get used to VC without Sylvanians soon enough, armourless zombies and soft necromancers. How do you people cope?
Vamp lord, general, level 3, great weapon, crown of the damned, aura of dark majesty, staff of damnation
Necro lord, level 4, book of arkhan, dispel scroll, cloak of mist and shadows
necro, level 2, rod of flaming death
Thrall, great weapon, flayed hauberk, wolf form
2*6 ghouls (what are these weird things? I have heard they are useful )
2*20 skeleton warriors, light armour, standard, champ
2*20 zombies, standard
5 fell bats
6 black knights, barding, standard, champion, banner of barrows
4 spirit hosts
No idea what to do with the other points.. I miss not having 4 vamps, maybe I should add another thrall? I had no idea how to equip the necros either.. None of the items realy appealed much. I'm not a fan of dispel scrolls BTW.
Don't go with the rod of flaming death, its not as cool in game as it seems. Also since you like your vampires so much (why wouldn't you^_^ ) Maybe you should take a Vampire Count instead of the necro lord, and do a necromancer instead of the thrall, you'd get the same power dice, have stronger fighters, and more characters to invoke with, which is more important in non-sylvania. The mage-hunter thrall is a good idea, but you may not want him in certain games. Also, consider the power familiar or black periapt, and keep the staff and book. For the extra points I'd say pump those skellies up 5 more and either add another unit of wights somewhere, or a banshee, since people fear them automatically, and will focus or try to get around them.
Hope this helps, its mostly what I've picked up here and learned in a short time while I've played.
That fast thrall served Lord Draken's Sylvanian army in every battle invaluably, he shall fight on. But yeah, I don't know why I don't take a count.. I killed the necro lord for a count with great weapon, book of arkhan, dispel scroll, and cursed book.Maybe you should take a Vampire Count instead of the necro lord, and do a necromancer instead of the thrall
The rod is mainly to eat dispel dice.. I could remove it if I needed to, but to replace with what?
I added an extra necro to make up for the missing two levels switching the necro lord to the count, gave him cloak of mist and shadows and nothing else.
Throwing in a banshee left me 9 points over or something, so I ditched one skeleton to leave me on 2999 points.
So if i read this right you have a lord, a count, 2 necros, and a thrall? Seems scary enough to me. I'd say your lord is well equiped, having that staff means that since he will be near the center already, you will probably get the most units effected if the spell goes off. I'm kinda shify on the cloak and cursed book, I've heard good things about both but haven't used them because I've only played up to 2000 and haven't had a character to stick it with. Instead of the cloak you make want to give your necro the obsidian amulet, same price, better protection against missile attacks, which if you keep him in back, are the only threat, and if he ever is attacked, you can always get in his measly one attack rather than one and watch him crumble to cr. Your count seems well equipped, the only thing I would consider swapping out is the cursed book, but since summon wolves isn't as good as in sylvania, and our magic weapons are sub-par, he looks good enough. His high weapon skill and -1 to attack means most normal infantry will need 6s to hit, making him pretty well protected.
Also, try the rod, and tell me how you like it, I tried to use it against empire once but they passed their tests.
Post some results and lemme know what you think! Good Luck!
