Hello Im quite new to warhammer, and also to this forum, First post !! :w00t:
Any way ... My freinds and i will be playing some border patrol games just to get us into the game really .. and well .. heres my list
- book of arkhan
I realise that 14 zombies is not all that much but i am obviously hoping to bring more into the battle via IoN. gouls .. well i thought that they may be good cover from skinks and the lot ... also the banshee is there as main enemies are lizardmen beastmen and empire ... lizard men skinks have ld 5?? i think, so should do a lot of damage to them .. also the highest ld in a beastmen army is 7 and thats the general .. and of course empire also do not have that good ld .. so i hope she should be useful ..
Any hints/tips from the many vampire counts pros here would be much apreciated
in my opinion i think you should get smoething with some spped behind it like a unit of wolves but that is just because i like wolves
Yeah, i was thinking of wolves but i really like the idea of the banshee .. and i dont really want to take more men of the main units ... and if i take the gouls out i can only have 4 wolves which isnt enough . What would you recomend doing in order to get the wolves. Any more advice is much apreciated (sp?)
Maybe switch the skeletons to zombies, you can have more in a unit. I'm no pro, and I actually haven't done anything less than 500pts, but as you can probably see VC get a lot stronger the higher the level. I'm not sure about the banshee at that many points, it takes up almost a fifth of the army points, yes it probably won't die, but it depends on what you are facing as well. Against lizard men, yes take it, it can destroy skinks, and nothing in the army goes above 8LD, and coldblooded doesn't work.
Edit: Oh yea, welcome to the boards and VC!

im not a pro but i of my own experiens I think that you should go for larger regements. switch the skeletons to zombies and the gouls to dire wolfs so like this:
Necromancer (and the things you bought for him)
25 zombies(max unit strenght)
12 dire wolfs
That is kind of how i should have done it.
Hey thanks for the posts .. I like the last list actualyl i think i may try that Thanks alot for all the help .
Thats not a bad list, just split the wolves into 2 units of six.
Maybe 15 skellies instead of 25 zombies and use IoN on that unit, it's small but has a beefy front rank and the necromancer can use IoN to increase numbers, you could just hold as the enemy come at youand watcha unit of 15 become 20.
Hey thanks to all of you for the help If there is any more advice please do tell lol.
