Welcome to Librarium Online!
hey all i am going to be doing a warband tourney soon so i thought this would bee the perfect opportunity to get some undead done
claok of shadows
so what do you think also the necromanceer is a little beefy but i like it
Does warband's have different rules for magic items and heroes and such, because if not, he is too beefy, and is in fact 10 points over the magic item alotment. Also, as I haven't played warbands, I don't know what the tactics are, or what you expect to face, but you wont beat much with small units of skeletons.
i know i just noticed last night before i want to bed but i didn't have time to change it anyways it should look like this
my amin plan is to summon inot these guys and the banshee should be able to decimate any small units or hold the flanks of my army
Banshees are good but people might not like you for using it since it can only be killed by magic weapons.
for 100 points you could get:
9 dire wolves
Mounted Thrall w / heavy armour, barded steed
either of which could also decimate any small units.
Also, 1 unit of 30 skellies with the Necromancer in it is gonna take a lot to take down. or maybe 20 skellies and 10 zombies???
okay i will change the skeletons into one squad so that it's easier to raise skelies
but i am keeping the banshee because i play to win even though i enjoy to have fun as well
Yea, keep the banshee, sure you can only kill her with magic weapons conventially, but there is also magic missiles, and cr. If it gets into combat with pretty much anything, it will die from outnumbering and ranks in a turn or two. They have no right to complain against that, it is our only shooting unit.
I'd go with two lvl 1 necros. One shot at IoN isn't much. I'd rather have two, even if it meant using less dice for each IoN.
Then I'd swap one unit of skeletons for zombies. A tarpit unit is really great at this level and you can cast IoN on a 3+ on the unit with two dice and force your opponent to use dispel dice.
That'll free up points for some dire wolves which I've found to be really helpful in warbands. Their distance and march blocking ability, and of course flanking power, really can help.
The banshee is a good keeper. I don't take one often in warbands because of the cost. I prefer to go for maximum models. Actually, I've started taking a lot of dire wolves. Three packs of five. That's a lot for most enemy warbands to deal with, especially when you summon more and more troops. And I often just use my IoNs to add to existing units since the wolves are doing the jobs of troops I would normally summon.
Yeah i like banshees too i just thought that for a warband it might not be best. Yeah, our only missile unit, sucks huh. I collect Chaos a well and for them the only missile choice is the hell canon. n e way good luck.
okay so hows this
5 dire wolves
2 fell bates
okay so hows that i also added the host becasue i thought it would be useful for falnks and tying up any units and it's ethreal
looks, good. It uses that other advantage of VC, we usually outnumber in terms of units. It means you may have to run 2 or maybe 3 units against 1 larger enemy one, which means we can charge from flanks etc. etc.
