    1500 Necrachs - pointers

    Gday,

    Well, here we go again, another list (cant make up my damn mind what to collect next....hopefuly this will help...) See what everyone can make of it...

    H - Thrall - 125
    Noble blood, General

    H - Thrall - 133
    Noble blood, Nightmare

    H- Necromancer -150
    Power familiar

    C - 20x Skeletons - 185
    F/C

    C - 20x Skeletons - 185

    C - 30x Zombies - 190
    Standard

    Army designed to raise all the dead it can. Standard 'Hold still while i flank you' tactics. Would this work??

    It's an interesting list, and I think it would work. THe thralls are unusual, but hey, no guts-no glory, right?

    I think it's a good army build overall and really don't have any suggestions to make.

    It sure has a lot of bodies in it for 1500 points, and good potential to increase that through magic. Just be careful with the general, no save can be dangerous for him.

    It sure looks like a good list. Personally I would drop the mounted thrall, one unit of wolves, a few ghouls (and make one unit of 9) and some zombies to make room for 2 spirit host bases. But thats just me, I'm a sucker for them.

    The non-general thrall could be given something like the cursed book or rod of flaming death, but at the cost of that single power die.

    That's the main disadvantage I see--two magic users that can use only two power dice each. And then only if you give each thrall one of the army pool dice. And doing that means that your necro, who could use three dice, will only have two for himself.

    It's a limited magic phase in that way.

    well, i dont build armies around magic unprepared, allocatting dice to each guy at the start. necro gets 3, each thrall gets 2. totals seven, and the thralls get +1 to castm so i only need 6 to get level 2 incantation off. well, thats how i think anyway.
