I will start off by saying that I am not terribly interested in starting a full army in VC. I just want to put together a small 500 pt themed Zombie army because I love Zombie movies.

I plan on modeling the Necromancers to look Zombieish. I really wanted to use a Vampire to make a super Zombie. However, the point cost was just to high. I might use a thrall for that.
At 500 pts I think you can go to smaller starting zombie units, say 15 each. On your first turn you can raise more (hopefully) and get them to around 20+. With the freed up points you can add dire wolves, which I've found really useful at such a low point cost.
I guess the alternative strategy would be to keep the zombie units large and raise one or two new units on the first turn and start bulking them thereafter.
I'd keep the musicians myself. If you tie, you will either win by one and hopefully force an insane courage test, or if the other guy also has a musician you will keep from losing a model.
At the least I'd say it'd really be worth dropping enough zombies to get the book of arkhan.
A few Dire Wolves would do this list good like David said. But a Zombie theme is a Zombie theme
If you dont want to take wolves, you should consider Book of Arkhan for some extra mobility for your army.
Rork edit: Woah! Check your spelling - you only give "special chocies" to your girlfriend.
i agree with Paz the book would be a necessity b/c youll only be winning combat with combat rez since you have no hard hitting vamps and zombies are to squishy so perhaps a strigoi thrall in place of a nec? strigoi live in graveyards and stuff and dig up fresh bodies so that'll go along with ur zombie theme
Your list is fairly good for what you get in it, with six power dice most armies wont be able to stop your magic, which is helpful in undead lists. The only problem is that u will not win many combats as zombies are one of the worse units in the game for hand to hand scraps. I suggest dropping a few zombies here and there to by an offensive bound item, as you dont know for sure that you will be rolling and offensive spells (gaze of nagash and/or curse of years) if you are out up against a dwarf army it will be an extremely hard game for you. Good luck anyway . DE. :ninja:
