Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey guys, I just looked at the army list for these dudes and couldnt resist at least trying them out. This is just what looks like a good list to me i know that dire wolves are going to come up but i dont have any i will buy them soon, so please dont tell me about them.
My only worry about this list is that it might not have enough models in it and the magic might be very weak on defence but 4 bound spells and 5 dice I think should give me a nice offence. The reason Im taking a lord and not a count is that i desperatly need dice for magic and the level i think should help and B I love beefy heros that can have their way with anything. Thanks in advence for your input.

I think you are right; you do have a rather low model count. Try dropping the Lord down to a Count, get rid of the Wight, and I'm not sure why you have 2 Spirit Hosts. 8 strong for Black knights seems excessive. Don't forget to grab some Dire Wolves and Fell Bats; they are both fluffy and extremely valuable. The wolves send your tactical options through the roof, they are really a "must have" in my opinion. Where you want to shave off points is mostly your own choices, what you feel you want and need.
Yes dude i know about the wolves, i sayed that. The only reason the lord is around is for the extra de spell die and i think 80 pts is worth another despell dice and normal dice also i like putting quite a few of my eggs in 1 basket. The wight stays though, black knights are nice but they realy realy like a hero in them from my experiance. Im thinking about dropping the host basses and adding 130 pts of levy or dropping the hosts and a few levy for another coach to enforce my speed and add some needed mobility. Fell bats are next to come so when i get those il drop a coach or levy if there still around and add them into this list.
Like I said, it really is all up to you to pick what you do and do not want. Personally, I would take a dispel scroll to save points, or maybe a necromancer. He would add more dispell and power dice. I don't know how much the staff of damnation will help since many of your troops are not undead. Now I like the book of arkhan. 2 moves in one turn? Yes, please.
Lastly, you might want to wait on making a whole new army. A new army book is supposed to be coming out soon.
1st Sylvanians dont use necros a scroll might be a bit of an idea though.
2nd Almost all the units fight last so i think it would help.
3rd i would normaly take the book without a second thought but what do i take out considering i only have 1 guy who can hold it ?
Ah the touch of a Sylavian general is seemingly much needed on this forum. What?! All the sylvanian troops are undead, the staff of damnation has the potential to be fantastic.Originally Posted by frozencore
Though, always use hand weapons with your troops to get the better armour. So I would probably forgo the staff, given that they will last with a 4+ combat save anyway. Up to you, whether you want ones that last longer or fight better. If you do get rid of the staff, bring on the book!
Your units are too small. Definitely too small. Except the knights, they are probably too big. I would reduce the knights to 6 and have them in one rank. Ditch the wight lord. You need thrall, wolf form, flayed hauberk, great weapon. He kills machine crew, skirmishers, light cavalry, chariots (big one! He is s7) and lone mages.
I don't find magic weapons all that good for VC, so consider switching the weapon on that other thrall to either a great weapon or two hand weapons, depending on whether you are facing low T or high T.
Get those unit sizes up too, even if it means ditching a unit. You should aim to have them all at 20 models min. When you get them, wolves will help a lot. bats do as well. I don't know about 2 hosts, seems a bit weak to me. Increase to 3 or ditch them.
You need a little bit of hard hitting (besides characters) so keep that coach and the knights.
The army is a little bit vulnerable in smaller games, especially in the magic phase. So it could be tough, depending on your opponent. You sohuld be able to clean some up, but struggle with others. Sylvanians (for me) shine at 3k, they are very very powerful! I haven't tried higher, but I imagine 4k would be a great army.
Good luck with them.
