as you can guess from the title i am a new player to FB, i have decided on VC's because of their cool imagery and being immune to pyschology should make it easier to learn the core rules, the army list i have wrote is designed to be easy to use and allow me to learn the rules easily, but i would like the criticism to be aimed at an experienced FB player, well, here goes:
Lords - 369 points
- The Flayed Haubrek, Great Weapon
- Level 2, Spell Familiar, Dispel Scroll
- Level 2, Black Periart
Core - 540 points
- 19 Strong, Spears, Musician, Standard, Captain
- 19 Strong, Light Armour, Musician, Standard, Captain
- 19 Strong, Musician, Standard
Rare - ?? points
the idea being a character sits in each unit shambling forward, with the banshee attempting to eliminate a rank from a unit or two before they reach me in combat (by 'rank' i mean 1 model out the back 5 to make them lose 1 of the combat resolution points for it), any and all advice is not only welcome but wanted,
many thanks in advance,
btw, i know how much a banshee costs before anyone says that, i've neglected it due to copyright
I dont have much time to say much so ill say this quick.
#1: Give additional HW to the thrall for 4 attacks at S5 and a high initiative.
#2: Drop the black periapt and make all the units 20 in each, so even when your charachters leave it, they still get 3 ranks.
#3: Beat all enemies, cos ure VC and you must XD.
Good luck, DE.
"The anatomy of your brain is more than your mind can handle. What?"
Vampire Counts - 3500 Points
Orcs And Goblins - 2000 Points
I would be very tempted to shuffle some points around- perhaps one of the units of skeletons into zombies to make points for either a unit of dire wolves to threaten flanks/war machines or a unit of ghouls to screen missile fire or to hunt small enemy units or to protect your rear from gorgers/miners/whatever else can appear behind your army.
The other thing: while the thrall will give you combat power as he is you could look at the walking death von carstein bloodline power or wolf form with great weapon to go hunting chariots with your 3 str7 attacks:yes:
looks like a good plan overall though - Good luck
P.S. where is your book of Arkhan? its the best item in the list, much better than the periat!
Arms are an instrument of evil, No measure for thoughtful men until there fail all other choice but sad acceptance of it.

muchos gracias for the ideas,
