Right, 1st attempt at a general use Blood dragon vampire list
Blood Dragon Thrall
Book of Arkhan
Staff of Damnation
6 Dire Wolves
14 Skeletons, Hand Weapons and Shields, Full command
14 Zombies, Standard Bearer and Musician
3 Fell Bats
4 Black knights, Barding, Standard Bearer and Musician
Any help or advice would be much appreciated, its intended as a general list, not focussing on one opponent, but necros in with the skelies and zombies and thrall into black knights.
aut viam inveniam aut faciam / I'll either find a way or make one.
First of all, minimum size for Black Knights is 5, the Thrall doesnt count as a regular unit "member".
If you really want to have Black Knights, I would drop the Banshee and spend the points to pump your knight unit up to legal size, and get a few Ghouls.
I wouldnt go for knights at all in a 1000 pts list, but that is entirely up to you of course
Rork edit: Woah! Check your spelling - you only give "special chocies" to your girlfriend.
give a necromancer the cloack of mists and shadows, he is your general after all.
i think the minimum size for zombies is 20.. and takae 2 units of 29.
always take a minimum of 5 fell bats because you want the US 5, in a fear causing army. just to cut down the fleeing enemy.
dont give undead units an musician, you never run away so... and you never tie combat or not often. Get a champion for maybe an extra kill.
get rid of the staff of damnation, and add the extra knight for that.
remember your best unit are spirithosts backed up by a banshee, banshee to kill the characters and spirithosts to hold up everything and slowly win combat. i would change the knights for spirithosts.
I agree with redeemer that the general would benefit from the cloak of mist and shadows. Also, I'd beef up the infantry units to 20. At smaller games you won't have as many chances to summon them and will need all the numbers you can get for fear to matter.
I'd probably drop the knights. I rarely take wights in games below 1500, 2000 for that matter, because they consume so many points. I'd rather have wolves and ghouls.
