    2500 Blood Dragon Tourney list

So I'm pretty much tires of Empire, so I thought I'd try something new, thought about Chaos, but the thought of ending a game with more models you had at the begining is pretty damn cool. Game plan is to form up near the Knights march foward for 2 turns while raising Zombies to screen fire, then to pincer with the Black Coach and the Black Knights. I am looking to make a lasting impression on the Glen Burnie Battle bunker, heading up there for a tournement in the fall, figured I might as well start practicing and painting now...

    Small notes:

    - Strength of steel for the count. He's got a lance so he's already S7 on the charge, is making him S8 on the charge really going to be worth it?

    - Spell familiar on the necromancer. It does give you another option but chances are you're going to be casting Invocation anyway.

    - No dispel scrolls. In 2500pts you're almost certain to come up against some magic. And when the opponent gets off a nasty spell on a high roll it's reassuring that you can just say "scroll" and not worry about it, rather than trusting the dice. I'm thinking about spells like Spirit of the Forge and The Beast Cowers against your knights.

    348- Vampire Count
    Blood Dragon
    Level 2
    Crown of the Damned
    Red Fury
    Strength of Steel
    Enchanted Shield
    Full Plate Armor
    Lance
    Barded Nightmare
Drop the enchanted shield here, and give him a normal shield, it makes no difference as you already have full plate and a barded mount, either shield will give you a 1+ save. Stupidity on LdShip 9 for a 4+ ward is worth it eh?

    135- Vampire Thrall
    Blood Dragon
    Red Fury
    Strength of Steel
    Additional Hand Weapon
    Heavy Armor
    Shield
Put the enchanted shield on this fella and hes set to go.

    145- Necromancer
    Level 2
    Book of Arkhan
    Spell Familiar
    Sorted

    140- Necromancer
    Level 2
    Staff of Damnation
    Sorted

    452- 29 Grave Guard
    Shields
    Full Command
    Banner of the Barrows
For 452 points it better be worth it.

    315- 9 Black Knights
    Barding
    Full Command
    Banner of Doom
    Sorted .

    200- Black Coach
Not completely to blood dragon background, but still good.

    96- 12 Ghouls
Split into 2 units of 6, more flexible.

    50- 5 Dire Wolves

    50- 5 Dire Wolves
    Sorted

    234- 19 Skeletons
    Light Armor
    Spears
    Full Command
Personally, i would buy more skeletons with the points from the spears.

    234- 19 Skeletons
    Light Armor
    Spears
    Full Command
    Same as above.

    90- Banshee
Try and squeeze another in, they can be devastating in pairs. :w00t:

Not a bad list, just watch out for stupidity on your general.

Agree with darkeagle on most things there but just thought i'd mention:

Saves can go below 1+, In the case of the enchated shield he'd just have a "0+" save. Some armies can even get "-1+" saves. Its always just good to get as high as possible on the general for when people start throwing uber strength attacks at you.

Also, under the new 7th edition rules stupidty doesn't have an effect once your in combat, so theoretically by keeping your vampire in combats(where he should be) you can almost cancel out the effects of the CotD.

And the big unit of Grave Guard, def. worth it.

All that aside I think Darkeagle really has it all nailed down.
    Peace
Nevermore Chapter: 6200 pts; 97/49/11; Longest Streak: 9 Wins/4 Losses; Nearing Completion

Ooh that sounds good, might have to put that in action some time, especially against things like lizardmenwith strength 8 stuff >.< . Learn smething new everyday...

Alright, I'm going to drop the Black Coach, add in another Banshee... and what else? That gives a hundred plus points to spend... where? Also, I was thinking about droping the Crown on the Count, because the banner gives him a 5+ Ward anyways? By dropping that and Strength of Steel, I could get re-rolls and Killing Blow, just to make sure he wins in any challenge. But is it worth it to lose on point on the Ward Save?

I reckon you should keep the ward save, as if some enemy charachter gets killing blow on you, you're deaded.

    Now, for the spare points.

Take 14 zombies with full command for somewhere else to put your necromancers, and you still could use a few more models on the table.

With the remaining points, swap your spell familiar for a dispel scroll. IMO, 1 is the minimum you will need.
