I had a great idea for an army theme: Bretonnians that have been infiltrated and overcome by servants of the Dark Arts. As a result, they've all become servants themselves, shambling, mindless thralls of death. Forsaking their vows, they roam the land recruiting more to their dark quest.
It started with the uncompromising leadership. Being the kingdom's most powerful warriors in life, they are given even more power in death. (Undead Lords and Paladins count as Vampire Thralls, Vampire Counts and Vampire Lords)
The army's damsels become hideous mockeries of their previous beauty, dedicated to spreading death as far as the eye can see. (Undead Damsels and Prophetesses count as Necromancers and Necromancer Lords)
Bretonnian Knights, once the model of honor and chivalry are now instruments of decay, riding their necrotic mounts over their hapless victims. (Undead Knights count as Black Knights)
The peasants the Knights were once sworn to protect now wander aimlessly, braindead and pathetic. (Undead Men-at-Arms count as Zombies)
Even the kingdoms bestiary could not escape from the miasma of death that claimed their owners. Horses wither inches from death, or worse yet, beyond it; some roam the land hopelessly searching for their former riders (Undead Horses count as Dire Wolves).
Pegasuses rot, supported in air by dark magic, their wings too wasted away to carry them any longer (Undead Pegasuses ount as Fell Bats).
Even the mighty Hippogryph has succumbed, now a terrifying mockery of its former majesty (Undead Hippogryphs count as Winged Nightmare).
So what do you think? Has it been done before?
I really like the story behind it , seems you have worked hard to think that up I think many people use bretonian / empire horses for Black Knights , because of the cost . I also used a damsel as a necromancer because they look quite cool . Other then that the rest of your ideas seem original and I haven't seem them before .

Intriguingly, WD314 features an article about a tournament gamer who converted a Brettonian army and used them as VC's. He makes extensive use of the 'Counts As' rule. In this, he used stuff like this:
Knights of the Realm as Black Knights
Yeomen as Dire Wolves
Men-at-Arms as Skeletons
Damsels as Necromancers
Paladins and Lords as Thralls and Lords
Pegasus Knights as Bat Swarms.
Most of which you're doing. His army looks pretty good, but I think it's too yellow. What I'm interested in doing is using my Wood Elves and Empire as minions of a powerful Vampire Lord. (Warhawks as Fell Bats etc).
Wow, that's...exactly the same. At least I know it can be pulled off! Now to find that issue of WD for some extra inspiration.
I am sure that they have back issues of White Dwarf on the Games Workshop website somewhere . In one of the much older issues , a player did something with High Elves completely converted to Vamps , they looked very nice . I have also seen 2 other Vamp armies in WD - converted ones , and both looked to have used Empire and Bretonian parts extensively , but not for the whole army - your's would be the first
