Im a new VC player, what do I need?

I am a new VC player and learned of their awesomeness my second battle i had.

Right now i only have 40 zombies 20 skeletons, 1 black coach, 7 black nights with hell night, banshee, 9 gouls and 2 spirit hosts

Im looking mainly to use either von carstein or blood dragon vampires, not sure yet..

Any one have any advice on what to get next or any tactica to use?

Everything works better with Zombies, you got 40, so im happy.

go for von carstiens if you ask me, seems to fit in with the army so far.

Yeah, looks very much like how I started out, and I went for Carsteins. Not that Blood Dragons wouldn't be good, depends on playstyle. I always favored skeletons though, but that's personal preference. At least until the new book comes, if the rumours hold true.

But next I would get some wolves. I love them, and they're very handy and versatile, once you learn how to use them. Also very von Carstein.

Tactics: use the blocks to take the charge, flank with knights and coach. Pretty standard and straightforward. Not always as easy as it sounds though! Also, use wolves and/or raised units as speedbumps, to block nasty enemy charges and set up your own.

You have a very good start. I would suggest that you get a couple necromancers and a vampire model next. After that some dire wolves will help a lot too. Never underestimate how helpful they can be.

If you haven't already, have a browse through the Vampire Count Index, which contains links to various tacticas and Frequently Asked Questions.

Aside from that, all I can do is second the suggestions of our other forum members; you'll need, at the very least, a Necromancer or two and your vampire (once you decide what bloodline you want)

    Have fun deciding!

Don't sweat it, I only have 40 zombies and get by alright. I do however have 80+ skeletons, as they form the center of my army.

Grave Guard are very nice. Though quite expensive both in £ (or in $ as the case may be) and in points.

Buy a few more skeletons you will probably want to raise a few more anyway.

Dire wolves are useful invest in some of those.

But generally you seem to have got the right idea. By the look of things I would just follow your gut instinct.
