im fighting a 3000pt game against Chaos and im using the Blood Dragon appendix army
my army consists of about 5 units of 20 GG and 1 unit of 10 black knights.
my characters are a Blood Dragon Lord, lvl3, master strike, obsiden amulet and flayed hauburk with either a GW or another hand weapon
Blood Dragon Count lvl2, barded nightmare, blood drinker, enchanted sheild and master strike
Vampire Thrall BSB with war banner
and 2 wight lords with Sword of the kings, heavy armour and enchanted sheild.
My oponent has tonnes of chaos warriors, a chariot and a large unit of chosen knights.
i am considering putting my genral on a zombie dragon or count on winged nightmare so i can fly over his units and charge the rear.
To take care of his knights, i plan to charge black knights and a unit of grave guard at the same time.
Please let me know if this is a good or bad idea.
Well, first of all your list is illegal. Way to many Enchanted Shields, and also one too many Sword of Kings it would seem.
Second, there is an army list subforum for just this type of posts.
Finally, that army is not very mobile, and even though you use 'elite' troops, chaos can field something harder than that. A big flyer could probably help, but your general needs to stay near your army, as if he flies off the rest will be going nowhere.
Just my opinion.
so i can't use the same magic item more than once in the same army? I didnt know that....
and im new to forums - could u direct me to the army list subforum please?
thanx for ur opinion tis much apreciated
No, magic items are unique (in your army at least... opponent may have the same stuff). A few exceptions are Dispel Scrolls and Power Stones, as mentioned in the rulebook pg. 121 and 122.
The army list subforum can be found right here in the Vampire Counts section, just above the stickied threads.
And I don't have much experience with neither Grave Guard nor the appendix army lists, so hopefully someone else can give you more concrete advice.
Big (understood to mean BIG) units of zombies and skeletons to absorb impact hits from chariots.
You have too many special units if you're playing 2000 pts. You can have only 4. You seem to have 6.
He is playing 3000 points, and using the appendix Blood Dragon list with GG and BK as core!
