Hey all just wondering for the vampier heroes what are you going to use as them e.g. models from different armies.
I'm currently working on a Lahmia army. For my Vampire General, I'm using the old Lahmia Vampire model (the one with the cat) as I don't mind that model.
I'm planning to use a Banshee model as my Necromancer - the one that isn't carrying a weapon. I just thought that model looked like it was in the midst of casting a spell, so that's the one I'm going with.
For one of my other characters (I'm not yet sure if she'll be a Necromancer or a lower Vampire as I'm yet to see the new rules) I plan to use the Bretonnian Damsel model (the one on foot)
So, um... I'm not really using any models from outside the Vampire Counts range at the moment. Not for my Vampires, at least. Though I have thought about using some non GW models if I can ever be bothered ordering them.
EDIT: Oh, and welcome to the forums!
I've been using a wood elf lord w/ GW as one of my foot vampires for a long time... he'll be sticking around in the newest incarnation of my army.

i use aenur, the sword of twilight as my vamp, the fact hes coverd ib a huge cloak and has a fancy sword make him perfect, you would be surprised how much difference a change of colure makes ;Y

Lets see. I use Vlad, the high elf hero from Avatars of war, a blood dragon a nechrarch and two models from privateer press that I liked the look of.
Valten, Champion of Sigmar.
Replace the hammers with swords and you've got yourself a nice tattered, ragged looking vampire. Make his hair black, and flesh pale and we've got ourselves a Gothier version of Konrad with less blood.
I've also been buying up all manner of Reaper and Rackham minis to serve as my Cabal of Vampires. And I'm contemplating using the Dark Elf Sorceress for maybe an Isabella stand-in.
And I'll also have all the new VC Vampires, plus some of the old ones (love the old Blood Dragons and Lahmians).
My goal: Be able to bring an entirely different set of Vampires for every game I play....
For my mounted thralls i used a Bretonnian duke and the Green Knight. Green Knight was painted in what my frineds called "the Tron style", mostly black, red around the edges.
For a blood dragon i used the unit champion from the Empire Greatsword. He's holding a sword up in the air, has a scroll in the other hand (which i removed) and looks like he's yelling a challenge to an enemy. Tiny bit of green stuff for fangs and you're good to go

Further answers will require more vodka.
I tend to use alot of dark elf or high elf models to represent my characters. The dark elf repeater bolt thrower crewman with the scroll in his hand is my necromancer.
Now that gives me an idea... Assassins as vampires... led by Malus and Malekith as Lords
in my old list i used a necro lord on barded nightmare some times, and some times he had the ethereal coat, so i used Asura de Sarlath of the rackham minis. i think its gona be a vamp on hell steed, ill put winges on somehow.
i don't know if i can post a link a GW competitor , i know that their are confrontation boards on this site, but it seams as if GW gets coddled allot on librarium.
o well, i also dont understand linking, so if this does not work tell me
i so wish i could paint like that.http://www.rackham-store.com/boutiqu...us&pag=1&num=3
