Welcome to Librarium Online!
those who have used it please share your experience with him.
I'll go first. he has had 2 shinning moments in the 4 or 5 games i've played him.
his best kill, Vargulf charges a lion chariot thingy with korhil in it. the vargulf weathers the always strike first nonsense takes a wound and smashes his chariot! next round korhil wiffs and the vargulf promply eats his fase!
skinks scout with a priest in nearby woods to give my poor vargulf some blowpipe peppering! i get 1st turn and get the vargulf near his skinks, he promply fails his terror and runs off the board with his priest in tow. next turn the very scary vargulf gets charged by a "nike-saurus" nike saurus fails horribly and is promptly fase eatten! gee 2 turns down your general and a unit and character..... 1500 pts game.. i ended up with like 2200 victory points..... wiped to a man 3 banners 3 quarters general slain etc etc.....
and now to top it off i finished painting the chump!

Very impressive combat record for the model! Especially concerning the Lizardman battle, do you plan on giving the Vargulf any specific reptile bits for combat trophies? With a record like that and as nice as it looks (kickass paint job by the way), it'd definitely deserve that sort of first rate treatment, eh?
Looks good. And I've loved my Varghulf... in one game against Tomb Kings, he charged a unit of 4 Ushabti that were threatening my general's unit. I figured to hold him up for my turn and then probably popping in his turn, but allowing me to move up and get the charge on him.
Well, the Varghulf gets a bit lucky and causes 5 wounds! He's got 6 attacks coming back needing 4's and then 3's and does the average 2 wounds - and I make both regen saves. I've now won combat by 4, causing another 3 wounds on the Ushabti. He was able to successfully urgency and counter charged my varghulf with a unit of 20 skel's. I'm now facing the big 5 (3 ranks, banner, mass), 4 skel's swinging, and 2 ushabti that strike before the varghulf. The skel's fail to do anything, ushabti cause 1 wound on the varghulf. Varghulf kills 3 skeletons: I lose combat by 3 and make enough regen saves to stick around.
On my turn, I charge the Ushabti with a unit of my own skel's with a vampire in there and am able to urgency a unit of grave guard into the flank of his skeletons. End result: Massive death ensues in which I destroy both units by combat res.. even the 17 skeletons left.
The Varghulf survived, too, to go charge and beat down two screaming skull catapults! Just watch out for those things, he doesn't like their flaming attacks very much. :p
Lol, does his master share that selfsame view though?
My Varghulf was eaten by a Carnosaur in his first battle.
My Varghulf fought to a standstill against some dragon-ogre's then was killed to combat resolution when I couldn't manage to wound them. (If only I had paid attention to the wording of the wounds from resolution wording). Second Game with him, he ran down 3 Dragon Ogres, 3 chaos trolls, and 3 Chaos Minotaurs, including a Doombull.
The history of my Vargulf in my last 3 games;
VC vs VC. Varghulf charges flank of Graveguard, kills over 10 in total. Has one wound left by the end of the game, which was a draw.
VC vs HE. Varghulf gets rear attack on a unit of dragon princes full of characters which had previously charged a skeleton unit led by a balanced Vampire. Vargulf kills two dragon princes but is killed by combat resolution. The combat ends in a victory as my unit of graveguard flank the dragon princes, the only model left from the skeleton unit was the wounded vampire. Without those 2 kills from the varghulf the wounded vampire would most likely have been killed.
VC vs HE. After two turns of repeater bolt throwers firing single shots, the varghulf falls.
The Vargulf payed an important role in getting a draw and a win, i'm pretty happy with him. The varghulf is good at hunting warmachines, characters as well as the support role, racking up kills.
My best experience with the Varghulf is charging him onto a hill where:
2 Fire Mages
And out of these the vast majority of them ran from Terror, and The Varghulf and Lycni Vampire killed the rest.
my vargulf scared of a unit of sword masters and a wizard the took 2 rounds of shooting from a bolt thrower went down to 2 wounds then ripped them to shreds, also against empire he killed and ran down 2 units of hand gunners and a mortar crew ran away too.
