Hey all, this is my first post in the VC forum, Under the last VC army I ran Sylvania, and acquired two Black coaches. Now to me they seem better than before. What is everyones Views on them, and how do you plan on using them if you are going to. Me I am going to use them at least to start till I get a fair judgement on them.

Black coaches have certainly improved, and now you can take more than one in a normal list. They can get quite nasty after sucking up a few of your and your opponents power dice. The improved ward save helps their weakness against S7+ attacks. They count as vampires so can allow things to march and will not crumble if your general dies. So overall it's a good deal for loosing the ability to gain wounds.
The trouble with taking 2 is they are expensive points wise and with our characters becoming more expensive it could be hard to fit in, but if you can fit them in go for it as they are a perfectly good choice.

but if in the first turn or so make it ethereal, cannons are no longer a factor, unless them pesky dwarves rune them!
It'd take some exceptionally lucky rolling to get up to ethereal in the first turn, even if you like, Stood Mannfred next to it or something. Especially with two on the board. You won't likely see ethereal status until very late in the game unless there's a fluke on the dice.
I will probably one run two in very large battles, the varghul and the knights are other rares that I would love to run. I have my first battle with the new book coming up very soon, and I plan on using the coach just to see how it works. When I get my full list together I will post, but more than likely, with a 3k point game will only run one with the Varghul and a unit of knights. What I am looking at putting together should hit hard.
Black Coach are awsome, but I wont use 2 till 3000 pt for you wont have enough dice to max it's power before it was killed.
If you manage to get it etheral and fly, it is almost a unstoppable lawnmower. Remember that at the new codex it is size 4 now.
If you deploy defensively and keep your coach near all your vampire characters, you can get to ethereal by turn 2. A vamp lord and 2 other vamps nearby can contribute 10+ dice per turn. Add in your (and your opponents) pool dice and youre pretty much odds on...
I'm not all that sure I'll be using one. I quite like the model (I have one sitting around in a box somewhere) and the fact that it can possibly turn into a flying cart is, quite frankly, awesome!
It also would fit in quite well with my army fluff. Not so much the bit about having a dead vampire in it, but just the fact its a cart/carriage that would be excellent should you happen to need to move house in a hurry and want to take stuff with you.
I'm still not sure about using one. The Varghulf is tempting me, but the coach isn't far behind it!
At first I thought the Black Coach's dice sucking abilities were a bit crap honestly, mostly for those few times that I need the extra dice from my pool and whatnot.
Then I actually read the rule closer and realized that it only takes the dice if it rolls the six it needs to get power from it. If it doesn't roll a six the dice is still there for your wizard/pool. I might have to make some room in my list for one now.
