Depends on opponent
Are skeletons worth taking any more? Or has it become Ghoul only armies?
8pts each (skeletons and ghouls) and ghouls get 2 attacks with poison. Not too shabby.
Skeletons get to use hand weapons and shields but not as lethal...
Is anyone really still using skeletons? If yes, against what armies and what are your reasons for this?
This has already been discussed
http://www.librarium-online.com/foru...skeletons.html (Ghouls or Skeletons?)
Unless things have changed since then the results will be the same, most of the pros, cons and reasons people take each unit are somewhere in that thread.
It may not be all the points but heres most of them.
- can take full command
- can take a magic banner
- 4+ armour save in combat
- low ws and initiative
- 2 poison attacks
- can move before game by ghoulkin
- only a champion available
- no armour
BEN DIESEL FTW!!!
Skeletons - static combat resolution, standard bearer+magic standard+musician
Ghouls - kills, WS, A, poison
I go skeletons blocks. I want win combat with static CR If I have skeleton I know they have +x for rows+bearer etc, before combat start I simply know CR they generate and know that they do zero wounds back with their pathetic ws.
Ghouls are about killing and I have only PROBABILITY how much they kill, they have worse static CR and have probability be better if they kill enough.
Ghouls are better with ghoulkin, corpse cart ASF, staff of damnation...
Skeletons with magic banners...
Depend on your army, i think that skeletons are more universal only, and have better miniatures
