Quick Question about Vampire lord and magic

I noticed that there is a separate option for giving a vampire lord an extra magic level, and then there is another option for vampiric powers. Does this mean i could buy a first spell level from this option and then get Dark acolyte to make him lvl 4 ?

Thats correct - starts Lvl 2, + 1 magic lvl option, +1 Dark Acolyte = Lvl 4. Add in Master Dark Arts = 6 pwr dice Lvl 4 Caster.

Or if you're being more moderate and just want the second dispel die, don't take the level 3 option, just take Dark Acolyte, as it's 20 points less expensive. Provided, of course, that you're not maxing out your vampiric powers in other areas.
