since it isn't listed in rare slots or anything are VC unable to take dogs of war?
my friend got some ogres recently and i've recently fell in love with leadbelchers for the number of shots and maneaters just because they're so cool but am wondering if i am unable to take them under normal coniditions
yay maneater pirates for VC pirate lists
Do note however that Dogs of War in any form (other than units from the OK book taken in armies that have the option in their Rares section) are entirely deprecated and illegal in the English speaking GT circuits, so your mileage may vary attempting to use the supplement in different venues.
Does that mean Giants are tourney-illegal or is it just the Pikemen etc?
The new policy is if it isn't in a printed & bound book that you can currently buy off the shelf in a GW store, you can't use it. No downloads, no WD, no Storm of Chaos, etc.
Mind you they do go out of their way to note this is a house ruling specific to the GT circuit, players are reminded to do whatever they like in their own games. I just thought I should mention it for OP's benefit if he happens to go to a new club or different store or something and catches some static to the tune of 'that's not legal anymore.'
True enough, which was the case for 'Ard Boyz... but then they changed their mind and decided to allow Giants to be taken as DoW allies. Not sure if they've made the same decision for the GT circuit.
I have to say that I lost my desire to convert a Zombie Giant as soon as the Varghulf became available. We actually have a few good Rare choices now, though I'm still intrigued by the possibilities inherent in a regiment of Leadbelchers.
