Welcome to Librarium Online!
Was just wondering what army people dislike to play the most and why? Figured this would start a good read, and some help for advantages/disadvantages.
Thankfully my friend doesnt play dwarfs anymore but hes now playing a Slann army which isnt always the funniest thing to play against.
There is a close tie for me, Either Dwarves, or Skaven. With Dwarves my grudge is that No matter how many things I can throw at them, They wont budge, I recently went up against a unit that generated a whopping +18 combat rez before wounds even happened. My only saving grace was that he planted his Oath stone so I was able to maneuver around that unit for the rest of the game.
With Skaven I find that In a war of attrition They seem to come out on top, It might just be my bad luck or I might be just bad :p But the way its been working is that They just Stomp me in combat rez because of there massive unit size!
Well those are my two personal hated armies I don't like to play.
I was wondering that as well. 18 is insanely high, even with kills factored in. I don't think it can be right. The highest I know of is the Empire Griffon banner which can double rank bonus so you can get 6 ranks, standard, outnumber, BSB for 9.
They can get a pre-wound +10 if the unit is holding the warbanner. And the highest I can think of for a dwarf unit is +8:
- 3 ranks, mass, banner+1 combat res rune, bsb+1 combat res rune (with a different end combo to avoid duplicate thing)
VC can also get 9 resolution.
BSB, walking death, banner of endless nightmare, normal standard, warbanner, outnumber and the 4 rank bonus (from endless nightmare). You might be able to get more, but I forget if walking death stacks.
+10 Combat res, wow, how many points would a unit like that cost? Think the worst i came up against was 3 ranks, banner, war banner, battle standard and some empire guy whos kills counted as 2, I still won somehow but 8 blood knight died (6000point game, 3v3)
I played a game today 1v1v1... not the best setup wise.... I had skaven comming on one side with rattling guns,(dont get me started on those) and a lizardman army with a 2nd generation slann who seemed to love cleansing my undead. Lucky I managed to represent and pull off enough victory points in 6 turns for the win. I really have no idea how though was the closest game ive ever played. I cant wait to skaven to be updated, I hope they nerf those ratling guns! haha
Out of all the armies I dislike playing against another Vampire counts player, those games are really boring.
I actually don't mind vamp-on-vamp action too much, since I play a very non-traditional style list (I got for all fast & fighty stuff instead of infantry supported by heavy magic). But yeah, two Mannfred-style lists going up against each other is insanely slow and boring.
